You know this is one of the major contingents I have with Halo 3... A high powered sniper rifle round will go through almost any material NOT bounce off of it like a rubber ball -_- good physics my (_|_). The shot probably bounced off of the hog and nailed you in the head or body... like the others said this video does not give enouh info

If you watch closely in the video, or on the actual game of Halo, you can see that he does not hit me, and the mongoose is far away. I have never seen an explosion of a vehicle kill anyone from that far away, nor do I believe that it is possible.

It probably just bounced off of the Warthog as it would a Scorpion. The possibilities are endless. It'd be easier for us to tell if you were to pause it a coule of times at crucial points and look around, such as the exact moment the sniper rifle went off.

What happend was, was when you shot the warthog it bounced off and blew the mongoose up causes a force to push the warthog into you, making it a chain explosion causing it as your death/kill upon yourself.

There is no way that the bullet could physically bounce like you describe. And the grenade blew up the mongoose, not a bullet, and it was very far away from me. And if you watch closely, or download the video for a closer look, the warthog did NOT touch me at all.

It was a ricochet but the "explosion" from the gun hides the ricochet also its possible that it happens between frames because the sniper bullet went fast at the time so if you go back and look it'll probably show the bullet going towards the wall behind you its similar to when I deflected a plasma on smallhala yes I spelled it right

What happened is that your sniper ricochet'd off the warthog's windshield and into your head for a suicide. Even though the vapor trail doesn't appear on your xbox, the bullet data was sent to the host xbox along with the warthog movemets and it determined that the trajectory of the bullet was your head. There are serious, documented problems with the sniper rifle in this game. I shoot people (and see blood) all the time and it does nothing.

Except the warthog never touched me, and it makes no sense that me shooting towards him would make the hog come closer. If anything, it would make him move backwards or slow down, but that cannot happen. The only possible thing that can happen is a vehicle getting hit from the side and moving side to side a bit, but that's irrelevant here.

yeah, I agree with link. I've seen two other sniper suicides with similar situations, where a sniper was fired, and all of a sudden they just dropped dead with no warning. The wierd thing there (as with this) is that there was no smoke trail from the bullet being reflected back through their head.

i think it is a glitch. it wouldnt be a ricochet because one ricochet is not enough to kill u. and he didnt splatter u as its clear shown. and u wouldnt have died from the mongoose cuz it was too far away and it exploded the same time u died. so its gotta be a glitch
