These are not waves, they are 'swells'. Hardest to predict. At level ground or even looking from above, they look innocuous. They are the ninjas of the great lakes. Need exercise THAT bad? Rent a limo and bend the elbow til the lights go out.

I RODE THROUGH THAT, BAHAHA. I ride that path every morning and rode through that section around eight thirty that morning The day this was filmed. It happened to me once last year too. I got pretty soaked but stayed on my bike and just kept pedaling. Although my pants were wet all morning it was really exhilarating.
