Now here is another favourite that never got far cause he (Elvis) was churning out hit's more than any other artist of that time... Again listen to that voice, the phrasing of his words. Wonderful job Jackie as usual. Thank you from down under!!!!!
So beautiful!! I heard This song 25 years ago for the first time. When I listened to it a few minutes ago, I couldn`t help crying: Elvis at his best in his sentimental style. I adore his other styles too....
What a wonderful song.....I agree that it could have only been performed this great by ELVIS. Of course anything he performed is more precious than gold to me. I will love him forever.
It was said that Don Robertson was one of Elvis's favorite songwriters. Robertson's country oriented material worked well with Elvis's pop-rock sensibilities. Any other performer (other than Elvis), country or rock/pop, wouldn't have been able to have done justice to the song. Certain songs belonged to certain artists, and this song belonged to Elvis.
I love this song, too, Kat and Alan! He sure is cute in these pics! What a man, what man, what a mighty-fine man! YUM!!! Oh and thanks for this video, Jackie61too! Warmly, Red
Written by Don Robertson and Hal Blair. Elvis recorded it May 26, 1963 at RCA's Nashville studios. It is available on the Double Trouble LP, Separate Ways LP; The Lost Album and From Nashville to Memphis-The Essential 60s Masters, which is where this version is from.
This is such a very beautiful and underrated song. The vast majority of people have never ever heard this song. It's one of hundreds of hidden gems by King Elvis. It's always been one of my most favorite Elvis songs from the 1960's. Elvis is the only individual who I've ever heard sing this gem. I love very nearly all of Elvis' music. There'll never be another Elvis. This video was absolutely perfect in every way, 10 Stars as always Jackie.
