The point of this unknown to many, is that Cable Channel City TV 79 truly had a man like this with ads selling electronics or something. You see, the extreme humor comes that Levy actually replicated the his appearance(though name wasn't Phil) and technique to perfection. This was also done with the Crazy Hy's ads- a precise parody If you lived in the Toronto area at that time, you will remember.

Many SCTV skits are ripped from the outrageousreality of cable TV at the time - late 1970's !
