  • Berets were something serious , and some elite shit !

  • This video kind of confuses me. Are these guys the undercover "get in get out" guys? If so wouldn't they need more of a quieter approach on things? I mean these guess look like they're carrying giant slugs. I see alot of m16a1's and m1 garands and just heavy MG's. idk too much about the Nam war but it's by far the most ingesting thing to learn about. It's like a giant mystery

  • he had that stoner hid at 0:08

  • 0:20 holy shit... its woods...?

  • My first Platoon Sergeant's name in the Army was SFC Daily. He was in SOG Vietnam and it was an honor to have served under him. He seemed like an "old guy" back in the day, but when I recall him today he was probably only about 28 because I was only 18. He was an outstanding non-commissioned officer who took care of his troops and was very even tempered with a great sense of humor. I carried everything I learned from him throughout my career and I wish I could thank him someday.

  • Somethin happin in here, and what it is aint exactly clear

  • 1:02 .... WHY?

  • SOG never carried US made weapong during their operations in Laos and Cambodia..They used only AK s and other Soviet made weaponry cause didn t wanna leave proof of US involment over the borders..

  • @TheKILLA317 I find that hard to believe.. Pictures say otherwise, and Radio Hanoi even put out bounties for SOG guys. Not like they were unknown. SOG bullet casings I'm sure were the same as any normal infantryman's casings.

  • @WillSnipe4Tacos Yeah its true ,they didn t wanna leave any evidence back..In fact they didn t even wear the standard US SF uniform and they wouldn t have their dogtags with them..If their mission in Cambodia or Laos went bad and somebody was KIA they would even call a B 52 bombardment in the dead body's position..They left no evidence at all behind that Charly could use as evidence of US operations over the borders.

  • @TheKILLA317 I mean that there's more pictures of SOG guys with A1's, Xm16, and the like than with AKs.

  • @TheKILLA317 That is correct for the Shining Brass missions, although RTs or Recon Teams had a variety of US and foreign weapons to choose from. Find an old book by John L. Plaster titled: SOG: THE SECRET WAR OF AMERICA"S COMMANDOES IN VIETNAM. It also extensively covers the secret wars in Laos and Cambodia.

  • macvsog didn't carry American made weapons

  • @dcarlson12206 they carried xm17 n m60s those are american made they prolly carried remington 870s too

  • @dcarlson12206 Who told you that?

  • great tribute for these heros.. all heros

  • SEALS & GREEN BERETS FTW!

  • awesome video, awesome pictures, one of the best and most accurate tribute videos on SF and Vietnam.. Like i said awesome video

  • /what does SOG stand for i know the SO special operations whats next

  • @CallOfDutyFanism Study and Observation Group. Probably the best SF task force in the history of any military conflict..

  • @harleyqslovechild88 I know the comment is three months old, but seriously its not "Study and operations group" its "Special operations group"

  • @historyman9 SOG can mean Special Operations Group but in this case SOG refers to MACV-SOG which is the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam-Studies and Observations Group or just Studies and Observations Group for short.

  • @historyman9 SOG originally started as the Studies and Observations Group during the Vietnam War, and boy did they encounter some massive amounts of pissed off NVA.

  • good to see sum aussie sas pics in there

  • Where is the audio from?

  • @stonem83 i think from the only recorded SOG mission

  • @dayjob77 No it's not. It's just a few audio clips from the Vietnam war that I've heard elsewhere online, but it's not SOG.

  • Ay dude... where'd you get the picture at 2:29 from. I've looked all over google for it.... I only found the other ones you have but, not this one.

  • @NeilThe83: 3RD BN 506TH Infantry 101ST Airborne Recon LRRP, Should find it on their site.

  • @afivebthree Most RTs had a One Zero leader, a One One assistant team leader, a One Two radio operator and about 9 or so Nungs or Hmongs to round out the team. Hmong also known as Meo. They didnt always win and they didnt always come back alive either. But man for man they gave the enemy more trouble than any other unit in Vietnam.

  • @NeilThe83 Not everything is on the internet, boy.
