  • Karate kid! :)<3<3<3

  • Those were the days . . .

  • Some British songs are so idolised in America we almost completely forget that the song and band are from our own country (UK). So many 1980's hit songs I hear half the time I forget that they are British and I think they are American.

  • wish this song was like an hour longer lol

  • I looked this song up because of 'The Karate Kid'

(12 people had their asses handed to them by Johnny)

  • i'm damn happy i grew up during the 80's and not today. this song sums it up!

  • 12 people dislike this song

  • I didn't grow up in the 80s, but for some odd reason I get nostalgic whenever I see 80s stuff (watching 80s movies or listening to 80s music). I was born in 1993, so I was young when the 90s ended, but I still remember how those few years felt. and the 80s and 90s almost feel connected. btw, I first heard this in The Karate Kid; now that movie is a true classic!

  • old school is great! new genarations music sucks!

  • long live the 80's!!!

  • lol i remember jamming this song out in prison !!!

  • When pop music was just simply GOOD and no gimmicks behind the music or the act....unlike today where there has to be a gimmick to get them on the radio

  • I was born in 83 so I didn't experience the 8190's as those do in most quintessentially 80's movies do bc I was too young to join the Monster Squad or gp on Pee Wee's Big Adventure or qualify for Bloodsport or help Rambo or experience a Red Dawn or wear Sunglasses At Night because my bedtime was 9:00 and I was asleep and dreaming in a Land Of Confusion that Keep(s) Me Hanging One in the Land Down Under during that One Night In Bangkok. Then I wake up and its 2012... but something new will come~

  • All the 80's pop songs were so cool!

  • I'll happily go back to the 1980s so as long as Reagan's not in office.

  • i Love this song!!

  • I wish the 80's came back!

  • I love 80s music this is just the thing to make my day :) like this comment if you wish the 80s were back!

  • i remember going nuts over this song whenever it came on the radio :)

  • @MisterShaq7427 Same here lol

  • You suck LaRusso! You suck!!!

  • i have been looking for this video for some time thanks to you tube love it

  • 11 people didn't watch the karate kid

  • @gerardocruzjr1 i say 11 people prefer the new version

  • i swear i was pose to be born in the 80s

  • For some reason this song always gave me the creeps... In a good way of course

  • Ace of Base version is better

  • @HausofBats ... nah, the "Ace of Base" version is much too dance/electronic beat-oriented, not to mention derivative and thus a bit stale, without the rawness and pathos of the original. But to each his or her own.

  • @HausofBats NO WAY

  • Reminds me of old sweet days in 80s .... Cool song...

  • @canonixus1 High School, drinking beer underage in the mall at a German bar.

  • May I recommend the book 'A Concise Guide To Eighties Music' by Karl Vorderman. The author is a big fan of this track.

  • GREAT SONG, WAS A BIG HIT DURING MY SENIOR YEAR HIGHT SCHOOL.

  • Yes, def. in the first Karate Kid movie -- where he meets the girl at the beach party and the bf kicks his ass. Man I loved the end where the tables got turned and Ralph Maggio owned this a-hole (girl's ex-boyfriend).

  • lool got a new headset, this was the first song to check the sound out cuz i wanted a nice song :))

  • Women were alot more beautiful in the 80's and 90's.

  • @Dante95nyc Hell Yeah bro! that 80s hairstyle girls did in the 80s is the sexiest thing ever! i think girls need to bring it back!

  • @kidharris55 Thank you:)

  • @Dante95nyc I'm willing to debate that. But I'm biased since I didn't hit puberty until the late 90s!

  • @Dante95nyc

I agree. But I think it was partially the way they dressed makeup etc.

  • OF COURSE 80'S MUSIC IS THE BEST, ALWAYS WILL BE!!!

  • The 80's women didnt look cheesy, they looked sexy as hell

  • @redhot4391 YES espadrilles & tight Jumpsuits! Mmmmm

  • je pense que l'on ne pourra plus ecrire des chansons telles que celles que l'on entendait depuis l'avenement du microsillon et c'est pour ça que nous sommes condamnés à entendre maintenant des copies, des reprises et des imitations, mais rien de comparable à ce que l'on entendait à l'époque. Bien sur, il y a des gens pleins de talent, tels Goldman, Obispo, Calogero et d'autres, mais il n'y a que sept notes dans la gamme et je crois qu'on sature;

  • Hey, karate kid xD

  • Listening to Banarama during a cruel summer makes it much less of a cruel summer

  • one of my favorite bands of the 80s! there wasnt that many great bands in the 80s,like their where in the 60s and 70s.

  • finally, after ten years, the melody in my head was deciphered and i finally found this song. Do you know how hard it is having a song trapped in your head for ten years not knowing any lyrics or title?!

  • @THESUPERCAT64 - lmao. Torture.

  • @THESUPERCAT64 hahah...thats one of the many reasons youtube is the greatest website on earth.

  • @Drew00621 You've got that right!!! Youtube has solved many of the same song dilemma's for me that I would have never figured out on my own because while I have a lot of 80's soft rock in my head,I didn't necessarily know the names of a lot of the groups from back in the day, plus no one that I ask about these songs ever seems to know what the hell I'm talking about!!!!

  • Sounds kinda like Thriller.

  • evrything cool comes back again. The Karate Kid, The Smufs, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Thundercats... you just cant kill the eighties!

  • @UncleFooFoo68

    I wish i did,

    But i'm 13 wasn't born back then ;)

  • dedicated to my cousin, we'd sit out with a liittle radio and this song always came on? we'd flirt with the neighborhood boys? oh those days are gone but not forgotten? :)

  • Thumbs up if you saw the original "Karate Kid" in the Movie Theatre

  • this sounds like a song that you would listen to as you waited to be connected someone

  • i remember i watched a movie and it was old and it had a karate kid in it and there was a goth singer. does any1 no wat the name of that movie was or the name of the song she sang

  • 80's was ok...the 70's beats it by a mile.

  • I WAS THERE IN THE 80s OMG!!!!!!!!

  • TONY SWAIN AND STEVE JOLLEY = IMAGINATION + BANANARAMA + SPANDAU BALLET + ALISON MOYET.

  • synth bass #1

  • i 12 i only listen to 50-90s . anything music past that was mostly a fail

  • @ilove80spop lol.

  • @ilove80spop I agree

  • Maybe i couldn't live the 80's. But luckily my parents did = They transferred it too me.

    im 13 atm

and only listen to the 70's and 80's :p

  • @cheetah5115 Awesome man, I'm 18 but I've had the lucky opportunity to have a brother who's 28 (born in 83) and I've inherited all his nostalgic items, and nostalgic appreciation. This truly IS the BEST area of the 20th century. Hands fucking down.

  • @cheetah5115 stay away from gangster rap ur choosing the right path! lol

  • @logom0

There's nothing wrong with 1990s rap.

  • @cheetah5115 Well if you're 13 I doubt you're parents were even old enough to remember the 80's. And transferring it to you doesn't really make any sense tbh. The 80's are gone and will never come back I'm afraid.

  • I was a kid growing up in the 80s they just seem really great if you didn't have to live through that surrealistic shit, the 90s were well depressing but at least you didn't have to wear 8 layers of clothes and makeup to leave the house. On the other hand, the 80s or the 90s fucking destroy the last 11 or so years culturally. Except for some decent underground music the top 40 shit today is fucking garbage.

  • @Wampire78 I agree with you on everything you just said..well put!!

  • @GNUT666 A cruel summer is when your mother buys you clothes to look like that damned Cameron kid from Growing pains,

  • @RMCFShaunay1991 This is untrue. I was born in '85 and I'm only 26, I sure as heck don't have any kids yet (don't want to, either), and if I had a 13-year-old I'd be in trouble because I would've had to be 13 myself (erm...). But if someone was born in the 70's and was a kid in the 80's, or even a teenager, then they can definitely have a 13-year-old kid.

  • @cheetah5115 That's the way forward mate :D

  • @cheetah5115

you thus show how nice you are sweetie; perhaps you say every now and then their tears too cause i weep on these rememembering these pearls is just painful!

  • This song does NOT remind me of "Karate Kid" although I love that movie. It DOES, however, remind me of the great Banarama! One of the greatest from the 80's. Love that vibraphone/tubular bells/xylophone whatever they are playing with that sort of tropical feel that Haircut One Hundred used on "KLove Plus One."

    Nice vid!

  • @SteveB801 the only thing it reminds me of is karate kid lol..daniel ridin his bike up to school on 1st day

  • This is true pop........let's bring it back I say!

  • This is such a baller beach / summer song

  • is there an instrumental to this song ?? i feel like blowing out my car speakers....
