LMAO. Everyone is bitching about diff locks, shity 4x4, powerstroke, etc... But no one mentions the kindness by the common citizen. This is why nobody ever helps anyone else, because when they do it goes unnoticed anyway.
Funny all the comments about how Seattle drivers suck. There are shitty drivers all over the place. NY, Chicago, Dallas, LA...take your pick! Driving on ice and sliding does not make you an idiot. That is gonna happen regardless. Only morons think a city is defined by the people driving on it's streets.
I don't detect a locking rear differential. Honestly, if by some stroke of idiot, I managed to stick my truck sideways like that, I'd put it in 2WD Reverse, ride the brake, and Peel out until it slides into a good spot.
It's ice dumbfucks. The only way you idiots would do better than this guy would have been to stay at home on your computers and comment on Youtube videos.
Look at all the piece of shit "SUVs" HAHA! That's what you get when you buy a truck but you're not a truck driver. That's what you get. I hope your claims were denied since your garbage SUV shit is what drives up insurance. Good for you. And you people buy them because some asshole "TV Commercial" tricked you into thinking you're "safer". What pathetic frightened idiots. "Rolling on the floor laughing at you people"
idots got a diesel and keeps punching the throttle.....you bartely touch the throttle in a diesel in those conditions because they have so much torque.
@cochranexyz Really? Wow you obviously don't know shit. Washington is close to Asia... Just Sayin' My dad never slides out EVER, he has a saturn (No Chains).
@jakeroot2 Stay the fuck home for one thing. People are under the impression that the weather won't bother them. Take a different route for another. Just because you have a neat, big, cool SUV doesn't mean you can drive it or use it. The most dirt and grime that Expedition sees is the flower bed nest to the driveway where it parks.
@cochranexyz You didn't answer my question: How could you get out of that situation other than the way he did it, which I saw as perfectly acceptable. Yes I am a Seattleite.
@urbandestruction Not sure what the powerstroke was doing wrong here....it was sending power to the wheels, which couldn't gain traction. Perhaps you would like to clarify?
@CarluvrSD I'll bet a front LSD or locker isn't even an option. Rear LSD or locker must not be standard either...which is dumb. I would THINK due to what those SUVs cost you'd get traction control standard. From the looks of this video, I guess not. Sort of sad, really. Spend all that and only get front and rear open diffs AND no traction control.
ahahah thats funny my grandmas apartment is on 8th and james you shoulda seen how many people we saw sliding down the hair in there cars before they were smart enuff to close it....and even then...idiots still drove around the signs LOL
Its not the snow, its the ice, I'm surprised some people can't see that, it doesn't matter how steep the hill is when the road is icy!! I used to live in Seattle, I very well know how hilly it is there.
Thats easy for you cocky midwest people to say. You dont have fucking hills in the midwest dumbass. Its hard for us to drive in the snow here in the northwest because its very mountainious here. Its easy for you midwest dumbfucks to drive in a foot of snow cuz you have no fucking hills. Bring your cocky ass attitude to Seattle and try to drive up the steepest hill you can find in 3 inches of snow and see how well you do. Fucking dipshit
I gotta agree you have alot of people saying that nobody can drive in snow in Seattle... in the country no problem but when the street is only one car wide and your on a hill lol good luck only thing that can save you is chains and studs... I gotta drive a astro van and run service in the snow i know what it was like but I just used chains and did pretty good
@Vorash2002 I can feel the love... You DO make an excellent point, though. I come from Pittsburgh (now live in Ohio) and they have hills like that all over. Even IF you know what you're doing, there are some hills you shouldn't even think about going up OR down, especially if it's icy.
I've lived in MSP and now live in Seattle...First off there are hills in MSP, but not as steep and often times you get a drier snow out there from the cold temps that is actually easier to drive in. Here we usually get a wetter snow that tends to refreeze as ice after its mashed down...and BTW Seattle doesn't like to salt the roads...
lol was waiting to see that axle break

"i drive an SUV; i must be impervious to snowy conditions!"
i hate that mentality.. just cuz you have an SUV or truck, you do not have an automatic "cheat code" for driving in the snow..
get off-roading or snow tires first, lift the SUV/truck, & possibly chain your tires before you think about driving normally in snowy conditions..
*and for christ sakes, LEAVE FOLLOWING DISTANCE! even in dry condition Americans are awful at leaving following distance..
