Swimming with Dolphins

Thank you for this wonderful educational video about the cruelty of marine parks and zoos with dolphins. Every time someone pays to swim with dolphins, they are supporting the confinement and capture of intelligent, social mammals. Wild dolphins live significantly longer than captive dolphins. Plus, wild dolphins and orcas remain with their pods for life --- while in captivity, they are separated from their families to be sold to other parks.

Yyyeeeeah. That capture clip appears to be of Striped dolphins in Japan being caught for SLAUGHTER, not swim-with programs (which usually use Bottlenoses). The majority of captive dolphins today were born there.

The video of the dolphin capture is of a typical drive fishery operation where the dolphins are chased into a net and then encircled. This is the original source of the dolphins used in the swim with dolphin programs. That dolphins are now captive-bred into lives of slavery for the amusement of humans is not an improvement. Boycott all swim with dolphin programs.

Even if the video shows striped dolphins, you KNOW just as well as I that bottlenose dolphins and false killer whales are captured in the exact same way for swim parks.

Just because, in the United States, most dolphins were born in captivity, doesn't mean they don't still have the same rights as wild dolphins. They still have a desire to be with their pods, catch wild fish, and swim dozens of miles a day. In captivity, they can only swim in small, endless circles until the day they die!

It's the original source of dolphins for these swim programs and marine zoos. Just as sad is that now dolphins are being captive-bred to live their entire lives without freedom -- held in captivity their entire lives.
