I consider fingerstyle to be that very thing.... it seems like most fingerstyle guitarist incorperate classical techniques, with other genres... blues here... possibly the rhythmic drive of rock.... also finger-tapping is usually characteristic of fingerstyle... none here really. Regardless... as soon as my recital is done this April I'm learning this song!

My gut feeling on the mic he's using is a Rode NT4, a nice stereo large diaphragm condenser. It's got a frequency range of 20Hz to like 20kHz.

You do got a point. I mean the songs are different but they have a lot of similarities. As well as a lot of songs though when you really listen. Evanp2pixel is a fucking retarded he has no idea what he's talking about. All tabs are different anyways. lol.

so many parts of it are nearly directly taken from Don. Not quite an original song imo. People like Mckee and Dufour sure learned from Ross, but they never copied him, at no point.

And yet, you didn't counter anything that involved him playing a song that looks very similar to Don's stuff. I think you should ''listen to the music'' a little bit harder. We aren't saying this guy is not good, he is obviously very skilled. We are just stating that his inspiration is more than clear lol

And let me remind you that, if i write a song using A minor that doesnt mean that your stealing if your using the same chord in your song.

First of all, I didn't say that he ''stole'' work. Also, I'm sure you might actually agree on that, it's quite pointless to try to prove something on youtube. Although, if you listen to this piece and have ever heard of Don's music, you can't say it's not similar. He has the same little habbits when he plays for example. This reminds me a couple songs from don, but the most obvious is definately Drac & Friends, or at least a part of it.He is definately a good player though, I agree with you.

Its not like that, but its like... Man Ronaldiño your great, I can see the Pelé influense! WTF? Yeah, Don is a legend, but legends can be beaten. Im just tirred of everybody putting a Don Ross comment in every fucking candyrat production. Antoine Dufour is just way better, and Andy McKee covers his songs better than the originals. Don is great (legend aswell), BUT!!!,great can be beaten...

You miss the point of music, you're to simple minded. Listen to it, it is not a competition. Grow up. They aren't competing and they all have their strengths/weaknesses. Listen to it for what it is and don't think nearly as much.
