i bought the xponent a while ago but honestly it felt like a toy... really poorly made. too bad cos if they used some good materials it could have been a great controller
Don't buy this mine lasted 15 minutes until the internal audio card blew out and on top of that they don't give you support without a support code which you either purchase or get one complimentary one. You cannot even talk to a live person without it. Also the Fast Track Pro is incompatible with this the driver stomps the Xponents Driver. Check the forums you'll see all the problems this thing has...
i actually bought a soundcard(audio8) and im running the xponent with two technics vinyl turntables on the sides (4 decks total) the mouse control ontop of the xponent allows me to fade from the vinyl tables because the mixer only has two channels but traktor software can be controlled that way .
@shannonbusta you don't need an amp, but it is worth looking into a pair of monitor speakers for the far superior sound quality. Even cheap ones will be much better than your laptop speakers and it will help your mixing.
If this auto sync's what is the point, is to focus on adding effects? Seems to take away from the DJ art.
why this over cdj's and a mixer. I'm considering buying a new setup as I have sold my turntables and mixer, but why this, Tork Xponent, Hercules or any other similar setup. If a component on the system such as the play button goes out on one side, your out of a complete system until a replacement.
Well, by that logic, if a play button goes out on one of your cdj's, you're out of half of your system, and frankly, I figure it'd be kind of hard to mix two tracks from only one audio source...
Anyway, the point is to not have to carry around 1,000 CDs to have access to 1,000 CDs' worth of music. It's compact, it's portable, and integrating it with MIDI/computer technology allows access to new performance paradigms than "play song, match tempo, fade to next song, repeat."
thanks for the input, does anyone know how this Torq software compare to others like Serato. Also, has anyone played at any gigs with this and experience any problems?
Stop using mobile phones and use smoke signals instead, mobile phones takes away from the art of communication. :P The world changes, move with it and keep up.
my xponent doesn't flash the lights as it plays and when I press all the buttons for the affects it doesn't play them eighter. Does anybody know how to fix this problem?
howcome on some vids, i see the xponents led's all flashing to the bpms, but not on all of them??? is there some special way to get the lights to blink on beat??
Thanks for the video, can't decide, does anyone have any opinion on xponent compared to vestax vc 100. Seems to be more faults with xponent..it's not for scratching but will be used for gigs..
Do You Need The Torq CD In The Hard-Drive Of Your Desktop/Laptop In Order To Run The Program Or Once It's Installed You Won't Need The CD In The Hard-Drive And Your Able To Open The Program And Use The Xponent?
I'm Talking About The CD That Comes With The Xponent
the new version of virtual dj has a section under it's "remote control" where it has all of the popular midi controllers i assume pre-mapped so in other words, vci-100, x-ponent, and others are already pre-loaded and mapped for you -one of the reasons i want to buy the x-ponent
This thing will break if you scratch too much. It is not made to scratch. It is more of a House kind of DJ-ing equipment. I fyou want to scratch , buy 2 Pioneer CDJS or a Serrato kind of device.
i just got my unit & im finding a delay or latency in the platter respone when in vinyl mode. Cant scratch with it because it doesnt respond quick enough...anyone know how to fix this??
thanks for that...i checked the forums last wk & they suggested the same thing. ive set it to the lowest buffer setting & its much better but im used to using CDJ1000mk3s & Technics dz1200s with an instant response. I would prefer a pair of dz1200s but cost & portability is why i went with the xponent. Im happy with it for a mobile DJ enviromnet which is why i bought it...
i started getting back into djing recently but my decks needed some repairs. plus i needed new needles and all that good stuff. well long story short i grabbed one of these and aside from the loose faders and knobs, which you get used to, it is actually a fun and fully functional tool for djing.
i can scratch but that's the one thing i would never trust this for. get the torq version with the vinyl dubplates and the external sounds card if you want to pull of some scratching.
if your going to travil around you should by torq..its easy to travil with and good for electronic dj's who remix.torqs good for all dj's but for scratch dj's the only real way to scratch is vinyl..not cd's lol
only real scratch djs use vinyl..never try to battle with some programed shit.that might over heat and cut out on you in the middle of your set..lol
I bought a VCI-100 and I'm glad I did. I've heard only good about it, and I've heard not so good about the Xponent. The wheels are clunky and aren't good for scratching, but overall I'm very satisfied. Chad
Crazytalk151 - When I first started DJing this was what I used and have never looked back since. I love it and continue to use it as a back up to my set. PS I have a spare one for sale.... never opened the box!
@reggiereg1 the xponenet can be fitted to just about any software, if the software has video capability then it can be mapped to control it. i would recomend traktor. ive heard great things
what about hercules mk2? i am a mobile dj i am about to buy one of these two, what do you think? Are there any problems whith hercules or m audio (sound clarity, reliability, cue, button delay e.t.c?)Any help pleaseeeeeee
I've used one before... The Hercules is great for its pricing and the fact that it has built in sound card.. but beyond that its really a crappy unit that will wear down and only cause more headaches in the long run... If your serious about being a mobile DJ invest in either an xponent, numark total control, or vci-100 + a proper sound card...
you can check Ean's other vids about soundcard options....
there no midi out there in this price that have a filter this does watch other videos this torq is ver good more effects than other

@farkas0205 More likely than not, NEVER! Not worth M-Audio's time or money to make it Win7 compatible.

depends on what you want. the xponent is great but i needed to have it on always because i also used it as a sound card.
now i have an external soundcard and some little midi controllers.
if you have a soundcard already the xponent is well worth it.
