  • Thanks for teh comment Bannedit999 - good luck with getting started riding; sorry to hear about your theft - b*stards!

  • Looks like Raddick Lane, I'm pretty sure it is, been camping out there a lot of times. There's a good path all the way east over Dartmoor, you keep meeting a lot of stone crosses.I'm just starting out on mountain bike from BMX (after it got stolen), went for the Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc and will be spec'ing up soonish. Thanks for the great video

  • BTW, no problem on a hardtail - although you'll go a bit slower, like the other guy said. I usually unicycle it.

  • Where's that last bit, from around 2:40 after you've got down to Norsworthy bridge? Presumably somewhere round the reservoir, but I don't recognise it.

@Ben, you can do a shorter loop including the main rocky descent down to Burrator. Princetown -> Burrator via the nice rocky descent -> Sheepstor/Scout Hut -> Nuns Cross -> Princetown is about 15 miles. Or you can return from Burrator up the old railway line to Princetown if you want an easier return route (still about the same length).

  • @DartmoorHedgehog It's round towards Sheepstor village - it's a great little trail - it runs parallell(ish) with the road on the other side of the reservoir - and has some great techie sections!

  • @SingletrackSafari Thanks - I can see it on the map now. I've ridden that loop probably once a week for more than a decade (I live in Princetown) and never noticed that bit!

  • Hi Ben, this one's a bit less fun on a hardtail -it's very very rocky - but I used to ride it on fully rigid bike before suspension was invented and used to enjoy it....just a bit more slowly! There's a lot of ways of doing this one - so depends on where you plan to start and finish, but it's usually part of a 30 mile(ish) route...

  • Is this any good for hard tails? I might do this one next week to. How long is the whole loop trial?

    Cheers

    Ben ....again

  • nic stuff man!!
