  • Lakers fan here (and Kobe is my idol): This pistons team play like champs and the lakers play awful. Shaq play well in game 1 and 4... Kobe play awful all series. =/ Payton, Malone, Walton, Rush = garbage!

  • @AdrianAquino22 Kobe actually got a great game in Game 2. Sucked in the rest of them, unfortunately.

  • wow thats $6 million a year for walton...

  • lol at shaq missing his free throws as always. and that Kobe/Shaq assist was nothing compared to that Kobe/Shaq assist in Game 7 of the 2000 Western Conference Finals with Bob Costas calling "Kobe...TO SHAQ!" (that's at 1:20 of this vid ldY8bcrmdPI)

  • sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed

    from GABON

  • injuries are part of the game, there is no need to say "if malone wasnt hurt they would have won"..... its all in the game

  • man doc is better than most analysts today

  • @jfh06d That might explain why he is a coach not one of those stupid talking heads on espn.

  • laker 'role' players were GARBAGE the 'entire' series!!!(detroit 5 vs l.a. '2').......

  • Lakers will always be a better franchise than the the Pistons. How many titles haev the Lakers won every since this season? How many have the the piss-ons won? There is your answer lmao.

  • @MRTUPAC28 That's what losers say when their team gets defeated lol it's been 7 years already and you still can't take that lose like a man. sigh.

  • @chronodude10 Lol wow if you didn't like my comment, why respond to it? Also I have been over this finals lost because I have seen the Lakers will numerous titles. This will be the last title the Pistons will EVER win.

  • @MRTUPAC28 didnt your lakers get swept?

  • @MrPatrickdoan Sure did and you can't win every year. 16 titles adn counting. Did I see the Pistons in the playoffs last year lmao?

  • @MRTUPAC28 pistons are a fluke they go to the east finals that much times and only win 1 title with this team LMFAO against a dismantled laker team with injuries and shaq and kobe problems

  • @MrEdHizay LMAO dumb comment. In the 90s-00s the Braves won their division like 15 years in a row in MLB and won only 1 title, were they a fluke too?

  • @BRBaller1213 yea

  • This is bullshit, if Karl Malone was not injured, LA might have won because Malone doesn't only put up points, but he also put pressure on the paint, thus assisting Shaq, and when things go good in the paint, it also goes good behind the ark, then offense and defense and then we get momentum, creating a chain reaction. This is for the championship, its diff. than playoffs. Malone was the heart and soul of this Lakers team.

  • Isiah's ankle injury was even worse than what Kobe went through 12 years later in the finals. Kobe hurried back as well, and despite a great Game 4, struggled the rest of the way.

Isn't it strange how with ankle injuries, if a player tries to return too quickly, he might play well in the first game back and seem to be fine- only to find his ankle weakened when he tries to play the next several games. Kobe shot 25% in the final two games of that series after shooting almost 50% through Game 4.

  • Hand checking was made illegal in the nineties. The Pistons held teams down as much with controlling the tempo and the offensive glass as they did with defense. They seemed to have several one minute offensive sequences in this series because of offensive rebounds. .

How do I know? Look at Games 1-3 at how many fouls are called on the perimeter on the Lakers. FOR HAND CHECKS.

Having a better season record equals a better team? Millions of Cleveland fans would like a word with you.

  • PISTONS 2004 the real champs, great defense !!! Malone is not health? but LA have Kobe, Shaq, Payton, Malone... great Player's but Pistons have on this year great chemistry!!!

  • your piston knowledge is incredible and you are correct on many levels nettubeminder

  • Detroit always have to hear from ignorant fans saying we got lucky the story wasn't the Pistons won a ring but y the Lakers didn't immediately the NBA eliminated hand-checks on defense because the pistons style was bad for the game same thing the NBA said during the Bad Boys run also. That year Detroit went on a streak which they held their opp under 70 ppg 5 str games a league record & would have been 6 if not for NJ leaving their starters in after we pulled ours in a blow in their place

  • The Nets were celebrating the fact they stopped our streak. My point is Pistons a lock down D that league didn't want to become a trend with Indiana playing almost the same the difference Indy had stars in J.Oneal, R.Miller & yes Artest won D-player of the year that year & was consider 1 while Det had cast offs but know Boston currently playing good D & every1 celebrates that but when we did it was ugly b-ball Det 04-06 records 54-28=champs 54-28 lost n 7 to S.A & 64-18 lost to MIA in 6

  • thanks for the upload! and to say that the lakers didn't try? they did and failed go pistons

  • @ASAManifesto

A rings a ring, but just consider the Pistons were very fortunate Malone's knee didn't give out against San Antonio or Minnesota, or 'Sheed would've had his hands full with Timmy or KG.

Not to mention Jason Kidd missed game 6 and was hobbled in game 7 two rounds prior to this series. The first five games were classic of that series. Good job with Indiana though.

  • @shimmyshimmyyahhh considering the Pistons took the spurs to a 7 game in 05 A series that b-ball fans know the pistons should have won if Sheed doesn't leave Horry & Sheed's defense is always underrated he does well against the bigs in the league Kidd & the Nets yes Kidd may have been kinda hurt late in that series but we prove that we were better than the Nets dominating them in the reg season. the year b4 when the same 2 teams met in the ECF Nets swept Detroit but Billups missed all but 1 game

  • @NetTubeMinder

Detroit responded like a champ in Game 6, even after two humbling road defeats to start the series. Had SA lost Game 5, they come out sharper in game 6.

The Spurs for three straight years had started a playoff series 2-0 only to be tied 2-2 and have all 3 game 5s come down to a game winner going in or rattling out.

    (LA in 03 and 04)

Ignorant fans? I can't think of a team that lived off of more injuries than the Pistons did. Wade in 05, Kidd, Malone, Jermaine in 04, etc

  • @shimmyshimmyyahhh

can't really dispute your point but the Pistons can use that same reason also in the year before we won the ring, in 2003, when people was saying that Detroit was the worst no.1 seed ever , C. Billups was missed the first 2 games of the conf. finals vs the Nets with a severe ankle injury & barely played that ended with Detroit getting swept. What u folks can't dispute is until Detroit came along the east was getting rolled by the west in the finals lucky to win a game

  • Just like the bad boys too in 88 Isiah scored an NBA finals rec 25 pts in the 3rd qtr on 1 leg in gm 6 but couldn't play in gm 7 & the lakers won back 2 back rings. but the next next year magic goes down & the Pistons sweep them, everybody always forget that fact everytime Detroit wins its some excuse y

  • @NetTubeMinder Looking at how close the series was the year before (88) and the year after when LA had no answer for KJ and were beaten 4-1 by Phoenix, it was time for the torch to be passed, injuries or not.

The Pistons beat the crap out of Portland, and made some huge plays to steal game 5 in 1990. Only buzzer-beater to win a ring that I can think of...

One of only three teams to win the middle 3 road games in the Finals(93 bulls won all three road games, but lost 2 home games). Impressive
