  • my coach always says Level change, step, penetration

  • Thats the same 3 things I do before i do your mom!

  • ooh its a good move...but wait.... what happened if he hit me with his knee in my f* face... he turn off my mind in a sec. so..please teach some good moves... Dumbie trainer!

  • are you serious? wow, everysingle good wrestling coach teaches this as like the first move you learn, that and stances. and thats a risk your going to have to take, if it was an acident then i mean it shouldnt really hurt too bad, but if he just strait up grabbed your head and kneed you, then he would be disqualified and you would get the win, so dont be a pussy faggot

  • Its wrestling, not UFC!

  • Thats why in MMA you learn to set it up with a couple of punches to the face. We practice jab, straight, then go for the takedown. Its hard for people to reach to a takedown after they've just received a hard shot to the face. Also you practice over and over to shoot very fast. It takes lost of time and repetice practicing.

  • Which is why it says grappling, retard. There are no strikes allowed. The single and double legs also work in MMA and are used quite often. The difference is how much you lower your level.

  • wow are you a noob or what singles high crotchs and doubles are your most basic standing moves aside from one or two others, but are the highest success rate at international level so how about next time before you comment do some homework about the sport you compete in !! btw if he knees you in the head your head position isnt on his hip like this , dumbie trainer, just said idiot

  • yeah thats a good move, like how you mentioned the fundamental stuff, like lowering your level first then shooting forward through the opponent, that could be a really useful move

  • My concern about this is eating his left kick as I shoot in, or him stomping on me with his right foot before I take him down.

I am looking for a really good way of taking down a MUCH larger (much taller, much heavier) opponent. If he is too tall, I do not like to clinch. If a much heavier guy sprawls well on my double leg takedown attempt, I am toast.

Any suggestions on the best way to close the gap, and takedown a huge monster ?

    thanks !

  • Outside single is great for big guys. Its pretty safe and its your best bet to take someone much larger down to the ground. It also allows you to switch to the double if needed, or go to the guys back. Its a lot better then clinching with someone who is bigger or shooting a double and having the meat head sprawl hard on you, and leave you in an even worse position.

  • I prefer to use a Mossberg 590 for the really big guys... left knee - then right knee :)

Seriously though, speed with a good inside trip can work or if they push back go with a fast shoulder throw using your body as a pivot and their own momentum to complete the throw.

  • my technic with the mossberg 590 is the single crotch take down. one shot to the balls and there usually down

  • This is college wrestling people, not street fighting or UFC.

  • @cburcinc get strong ( sorry no getting around it) and force a really good tackle with your head outside... *really important that you explode when you do this, get mad as fuck and yell. Or again get strong and go for punch combinations then single with head outside. I'm saying head outside so that you dont eat any nasty knees.

  • sweet

  • sweet man. i really love your detailed explanations. i'm losing my internet for a while so just wanted to say keep it up.
