Nice sparging idea! I was told that the braided hose was not a candidate for continuous sparging since it should get stuck but you must be going slow enough to make it work. (How to Brew by John Palmer is where i read that) looking good, nice video
@drawdy10 Thanks! I've since switched to a cylindrical cooler with a false bottom so that I can fly sparge with no channeling. John Palmer did some really nice experiments using a fish tank, I think, so that he could actually observe the channeling with the braided hose. I heard about it on an old episode of Brew Strong.
good video, i could do without the music though lol. its just white noise in the background its sort of irritating. no offense to your film making abilities haha. i love the sparge arm though i think i may make my own just like that
The Gott coolers are nice, but this is what I had available. My brother makes a fantastic altbier and I have an award winning ESB. I live in the NW so awesome IPA's are a dime a dozen, I don't really feel the need to brew my own. I agree about the marris otter. I love the stuff. I used 8.5 lbs in this recipe.

I just made a Double Chocolate Oatmeal Stout. Can't wait to try it.

@djdevelope32 Mmm, sounds great. Did you use any actual chocolate? If so, which method did you use?

Great video. Is that the oatmeal stout you sent to Barry (Tsalts)?

Thanks. Yes it's the very same. It still needs to carbonate a little bit but it should be pretty tasty.

Super! 5 Stars
Beautiful setup you have there.
I batch sparge and use a Gott 10 gallon round cooler as a mash tun.
Favorite styles are Altbier, Special Bitter and IPA
I am in love with Maris Otter as a base malt.
