  • That first break of The Miz was terrible might have helped caused his losing, check that out a horrible pro level break the balls ....

  • one of the best players of all time.

  • Earl "The Dirt" Strickland... Such a good player but shitty personality and he's a bad loser

  • @Cuemaster2011 it probally looked allot better in person

  • @Cuemaster2011 its earl the pearl strickland

  • Biggest pockets I've ever seen. I thought Earl was going to fall into one of them. Man they are terrible coloured tables! Who could possibly think this was a better option than green?

  • @jamessquire1 you're right about the colour, maybe if the table itself was a darker colour of wood the cloth wouldn't look too bad. it also looks worse in the overhead shots too I reckon.

  • Whooo hoooo for the 6-9 combo shot! Those are my fav

  • can´t believe how big those side pokets are!!!

  • @9ballalex great. what do have here, another snooker snob, perhaps? sorry if i'm jumping the gun, but i'm just so sick of people bitchin about pocket size. if the players do not achieve perfect position or close to it, the pockets could be 7 inches, you'll sink it, but lousy position on the next. i was gonna post about how freakin cool it is to see a young pearl vs the miz(who looks 55, not 39) & the first post i see is yours. blaach!!

  • @jdbankshot Sorry but you are mistaking xD.... Im from El Salvador and I´m a professiona pool player, I have never played snooker in my life, but....it´s just that the side pockets looks huge...that´s all xD

  • Also funny to see how weak the strategy was then, too. Were they even playing push out rules? I played money games in the early 70's, and we played push-out rules then. In any case, BOTH players could have used safeties to their great advantage in the first game.

  • Interesting to see "Earl" when he's not yet quite EARL! He's mighty good, sure; but he's not the MONSTER he'd be in another 5-10 years.

  • The game is 9 ball the balls consist of the numbers 1-9 balls are shot in order, for **** sake how dumb do they think people are :l

  • It's always frightened me that people were playing world class pool since before I was born!

    ;)

  • The announcers are "pretty good"....please, give me a break, they are a freakin' joke.

  • @ManOfTheWhirled - Nah, I'll stand by "pretty good." John Stravinsky is very knowledgeable for a non-pro. Leandra Reilly leaves a bit to be desired, but for the early days of ESPN she's better than "a freakin' joke."

  • The Pearl is still playing with his "Moochi" at this point in time. I have a video of him playing in Japan around 88 or so.

  • i have to say, the yellow cloth makes me sick hahahaha!

  • gold cloth?!!!!!! Thank god time has marched on. I guess it went well with Harvest Gold or Avocado green appliances.

  • Wow!! Thanks so much for posting this. I had this on beta way back when and I watched it a LOT. I've been looking for this for years. This match made me a lifelong lover of 9 ball and a huge Earl Strickland fan.

  • yellow clothe and that friggin logo in the middle of the table. great upload though!!!!! Thanks!

  • who are the announcers?

  • @doilyfilm - John Stravinsky and Leandra Reilly. They were pretty good for the early days of ESPN.

  • yellow cloth? xD

  • thanks olschi for posting !!!!
