Let me remind you that the war in 1919-1920 against Soviet Russia in the beginning of Poland. Yu Pilsudski wrote in his memoirs: "Already in 1918, no matter from whom, I have set myself a clear objective in the war against the Soviets. ... In 1919 I completed this task." (War in 1920). Poland invaded Lithuania, Western Belarus and Ukraine. Hike Tukhachevsky in Warsaw was the Soviet counterattack. So that the invader was Poland.

I would like modestly remark that the brave 27. rifle division (its commander was Putna) NEVER watered its horses in Vistula having been completely crushed near to Warsaw 13 - 17.08.1920 (together with the 21. division ), BEFORE having reached Vistula :-). But the song is nice, indeed. Good, old soviet heroic propaganda.

@koalatorun I would as well remark that Kutusov's army at Borodino was crushed in crushing the Emperor`s army and that behind Shukov at Berlin 20 millions of victims claimed the sadness of victory. "Soviet heroic propaganda" was necessary to the survival of russian identity. It is neither good nor old.

They sing about the events of the Civil War (Yenisey and Kronstadt) and between them they should put OBVIOUSLY some fact from 1945 :):). More: they give this Vistula story as the testimony of their victory (to water horses mean - to have achieved this water). Comrade Staline should have loved your replay. 20mln people is not correct.

For Civil War it was 2.5mln soldiers from both sites.

In Stalin time NKVD killed a lot of people, but 27th division didnot took part on this.

By the way, it dissapeared near completely in first weeks of the WWII.
