um... in just about every platformer, you hold forward longer and they speed up to top speed. Sonic just has a higher top speed.

And fyi, its not like secret rings. You can actually turn around. You're not forced to go forward

I'm hoping to see some improvement in this game.  Seeing that it looks like it will be the only Sonic game Sega will focus on developing for 2008 as of right now. Hopefully there will not be a fuckload of sonic titles being developed at the same time this year like sammy sonic 2005 to early 2008
