It can be dangerous for people that have respiratory problems; others can handle it by covering their mouth with a piece of cloth, just like in the desert.
nnnnnnoooooooo way!!!!!!! realy?¿? i can't belive that... wow i've never knew sand storms could be this large.. and would never cross me mind that you could get waste of it to SWITZERLAND... damn, amazing!
@pendehassen There wouldnt be much to clean. Everything is sand and dirt over there anyway including the houses...if anything thats helping patch holes and shit...I would be suprised if there engines ran on the shit...
@nhraim Where You There What Does It look Like in The inside Does IT hurt ur eyes Do You die? Can u go out. or have to hide is it a mess after why is it soo big never been in one and never will ps does it destroy anything? is this A bad storm?
yeah, it came in saudi arabia now...at 10/march/2009
and the wind wasnt that strong but the sand is on sky everywhere...and i cant handle my breath so i hide in my house closing the windows and doors..but i have some vid, my own vid in saudi arabia..emmm, i tho it is only happen in saudi but actuley it happen too in Syria and Iraq...
Thanks for your comment... it's the first impression that stays imprinted in your mind for a while, let me tell you that one questions himself when he sees it coming toward you with its might and size. Questions like, what's happening? or am I safe? or even some apocalyptic questions like... is this really the end?
Then when it's there all around, you kindof suffocate because its dusty because of the thin particles (sky is yellow) and the ~80km/h wind transports the sand everywhere and anywhere... houses are not best isolated so you kindof get sand in the house. I guess its part of the slow desertification of the once rich agriculture area... since the 3rd millennium B.C.E.
Mother nature is truly incredible.

how often do these these things happen and why does everybody stop recording?
masterfumi 2 years ago
Hi, in Hassakeh (city in Northeastern Syria), a sandstorm of this magnitude has never occurred in the last 100 years.
You stop recording because you wanna get out of there before it gets you! Pretty suffocating!

It didn't last that long because it was travelling real fast, but it too more than 5 hours for the air to be completely clear.
