You should try Droid, it has Google 3D Maps navigation, GCC Cross compiler (even for 386 machine!!), android Debug bridge, RFID scanner, TERMINAL TTY, CPU overclocked to 1.2 GHz, custom ROM, eal physical Keyboard, Google Voice, and the Touchscreen only for UNLOCK purpose only (I use my VOICE to type anything, & and control main feature of the DROID) !!!

change font - "MiM" or "shrink" or "font swap"

"quick sms" allows you to answer texts without exiting apps!
Droid FTW! Freedom. Motorola Devour rocks. I could get the droid, but I prefer the Devour keyboard. My Devour works just fine for me. Apple never was "user friendly", untill now with MAC OXS, but classic not so much. I am an apple user. Double Twist to sync your media to your computer. USB connection, awesome!
i have an n97 and personally i dont understand why its not the champion smartphone. Does everything i want and there loads of various s60 content to download. on the points covered in the dog fight i thought the n97 performed better than both.
The problem with Android is the same problem MS had. There are way too many devices out there, with different hardware, different capabilities and as a result, the market is so segmented, that even though Android got a very good marketshare, there are too many limitations for Android apps, since they have to work on all phones, and not all of them have the same featureset.
@ThornfullessRose Actually the point I was trying to make, sorry if I was unclear, is that the iPhones screen touch response is smoother than the droid. You can actually see it in this video as he's working with the phones and scrolling up and down, which has nothing to do with the droid multitasking, it's the actual touch responsiveness of the iPhones screen that is smoother. I'll say it again though, I think the droid is a cool phone. I'm thinking about developing for it. It's pretty sick.
Id also like to point out, that commercial was referring to what the Droid DOES and iPhone does not. It wasn't referring to web browser speeds of the Milestone.

Tried both phones out. Ended up getting an iPhone. Looks better, IMO, and the Droid isn't as smooth when scrolling through webpages. It frustrated me a bit. Plus I like the pinching to zoom feature.

The only difference is the Droids is running underclocked @ 550 Mhz and the iphone 3Gs' is running @ 600 Mhz. There is no such thing as a comercially available 1.6 ghz processor in a mobile phone as of June 2010. You might see dual core snapdragon procesors running @ 1.2-1.5 Ghz in 4th Qtr 2010 or 1st Qtr 2011.

The iphone is undoubtedly a little smoother and its apps blow all others out the window. But the Droid just seems to be a little more superior in it's functionality and ability to multi task. The iphone is of course going to be favored because it's so well established and has that loyal fan base, but if enough people give the Droid a chance and can suspend that undying loyalty to Apple, the Droid can definitely become one of those elite smart phones.
@hookem088 iphone is not smoother by any means, app store is being controlled by apple and they are pretty much gestapo, meaning there are 1000s of apps that never made it to the app store.
Droid has tons of apps and they are 1000s of them free.
For the few months that the driod's been out has sold more than the iphone.
Open source vs apple is a huge plus.

Tried both phones out. Ended up getting an iPhone. Looks better, IMO, and the Droid isn't as smooth when scrolling through webpages. It frustrated me a bit. Plus I like the pinching to zoom feature.

For my mother, I'd get the iphone for the easy-to-use features.
For me, the droid.
What really appealed to me was the easy plug-and-play, less proprietary stuff, noone telling me what I can or cannot do/copy/install.

C'mon now....you got to get the facts straight before posting. the Droid and the iphone 3Gs both use the processors based on ARM Cortex A8 technology. The only difference is the Droids is running underclocked @ 550 Mhz and the iphone 3Gs' is running @ 600 Mhz. There is no such thing as a comercially available 1.6 ghz processor in a mobile phone as of June 2010. You might see dual core snapdragon procesors running @ 1.2-1.5 Ghz in 4th Qtr 2010 or 1st Qtr 2011.

Also when it comes down to the customizing and the mulitasking, iPhone's OS 4 will take care of many of the consumer gripes which leads folks to jailbreak their iPhones. In June you will be able to have folders, customizable background, multitask, and many more dealbreakinf features. You will also be sure that the user interface for these new features are going to be seamless. So yeah anyways go iPhone.

The only drop well see is from the increase in per market shares to make room for a higher market worth and larger shareholder base.

Oh, by the way, Android 2.1 which was just released, now supports multitouch.

The iphone is undoubtedly a little smoother and its apps blow all others out the window. But the Droid just seems to be a little more superior in it's functionality and ability to multi task. The iphone is of course going to be favored because it's so well established and has that loyal fan base, but if enough people give the Droid a chance and can suspend that undying loyalty to Apple, the Droid can definitely become one of those elite smart phones.

Droid has tons of apps and they are 1000s of them free.
For the few months that the driod's been out has sold more than the iphone.
Open source vs apple is a huge plus.

im not really shocked by this, not that i think hes bias but he sure loves his iphone. Me I hate Iphones. I just think there boring to operate. i love the freedom of the Android OS. Im not a fan of the Droid cuz it ugly (so is the IPhone). So my lil contribution is i hope verizon gets a motorola cliq style phone soon. I love my CLiq but Im not impressed by Tmobile at all (western minneapolis suburbs). So when i can get Android OS full qwerty key board and verizon, ill have my holy grail!
