When has the federal government ever done anything right? Their track record is abysmal. How trusting we are. How many times will the people forgive the greatest pick pockets the world has ever known?
FairTax doesnt even slow down at stupid -- it goes right to insane. First, it wouldnt be 23%, it would have to be at least double that. The 23% was very optimistic just to replace the income tax -- and now, its supposed to replace all the federal taxes - which is over double the income tax. So the Sales tax would have to be to cover those extra taxes.
You are an idiot. Have you even read the Fair Tax House Resolution, or any information on how it is implemented or will work? "federal taxes" ARE the income tax. Of course there are taxes on imports and exports that go to the fed, but that is not included in the FairTax.
Here is a clue. Fairtax fine print has a massive tax on city governments, state governments, county governments. They KNOW this is nonsense, which is why it only shows up in their fine print.
Take away the 1.5 -2 trillion Fairtax pretends they will get from GOVERNMENT tax on GOVERNMENT -- and the rate has to go to 60%, not 23%
Fairtax knows this dumb ass, which is why they lied about taxing the government in the first place
In addition to Internet control, it will cause air pollution. Internet shopping will reduce air pollution because you don't have to drive all the way to the store to buy something. But taxing the Internet would reduce Internet shopping.
OMFG - that is the most idiotic thing I have heard! If less people travel to the stores, and less shipping is conducted because of taxes, then the overall pollution is reduced. You can't even conduct simple lines of reason... oh... that's right... You're a Ron Paul supporter (see spammed message below) - retarded?!?
First, income tax is eliminated, so sales tax will be much higher. Because of the higher sales tax, people will buy more things off the Internet because there are no taxes on the Internet. As more and more people buy off the Internet instead of going to stores, the government would tax the Internet to raise money. Addition to taxing, the government will control more and more on the Internet. As more and more government control, things such as Internet censorship would take over.

The Internet won't be taxed, the products purchased over the Internet that will be taxed. I think that's fair.
Also, when you buy something over the Internet it just doesn't pop out of your computer, it's delivered in a truck.

Actually states DO collect sales tax from internet purchases, based on the shipping or billing address. Your information is about 10 years outdated.
And your "logic" is actually the opposite. It seems like a 3 year old came up with this line of reason! Are you slow?

If FairTax is enated, then Internet regulation would be inevitable and air pollution would escalate.
