@4tusito No, it's not ADW Launcher.. ADW wasnt installed on my streak 7 the GB UI built into HC 3.1. It also will work on my Asus Transformer that has 3.1 (it didnt work when my transformer was on 3.0)
I tried it on my xoom with LCD density. I am rooted and running the leaked 3.1 but couldn't get it to work. Is this just a streak 7 thing or have people managed to do this on the xoom?
Hi body i did it using lcd dencity changer I change it to 180 and when reboot I stock on a black screen after the motorola logo, well on my xoom, any help please??
@nraudigy I wasnt swiping down.. If you look you can see it locked up for a split second... and about going into settings.. sorry.. I dont take orders well when someone tells me to do something. It's the musician in me. If you tell me to do something I wont do it, if you tell me not to do something I do it twice.
This could be why they have not released the source code, because Honeycomb is just a launcher on top of gingerbread. kind sneeky really. good find though :)
Because of the awful mic, you sound just like Chris Griffin. Interesting video, but it would have been nice if you went into the settings menu and showed the version under the Gingerbread UI
@Kev50027 When I did this video I had NO IDEA it would get the exposure it did.. It was taken with my Asus Transformer.. I only took the video to show my buds on IRC and XDA what I found.. If I would have known it would have been reported in engadget or android central I would have worked at making it a better video..
this is cool and all, but I dont understand the significance of this discovery. Does it mean google took shortcuts when writing Honeycomb? Does it mean that Gingerbread and Honeycomb are very similar OSs?
@eugenekim87 It's just a hidden Easter egg. By changing the density, it probably activates something Google wrote in the Honeycomb code so it give it the Gingerbread UI.
@7asan3li No you cannot do that. This was BUILT into Honeycomb's coding. All of this is just a UI change not and OS change.
@mm080692 can't agree more. Its a UI change. No an OS change.
@Graffix0214 you need to show the UI. What happens when you touch hold the screen? Does it display the Widgets, wallpapers, shortcut, etc? Is it even functional? What are the widgets like? Is the UI functional? What version does it show in settings?
Also, it looks like this is a hacked honeycomb rom running on top of FROYO. The notification bar proves that its froyo not gingerbread. Google is definately not to be blamed.
@rafaboy1 We are currently testing it :) It's running pretty smoothly except for some power issues when it goes to sleep. But overall it's running pretty well.
does anyone know if this works with 3.2? i cant get it to work on galaxy tab 7+

I think Google is prepared to anticipate any major mistakes in their Open Source

Nice video, but this is useless for Honeycomb Users. HC has much more beautiful UI than GingerBread. I loved that UI =D

Use 240 ppi, you have better gingerbread > w w w(dot)xatakandroid(dot)com/moviles-android/honeycomb-funcionando-en-un-htc-desire

The 7 does not come with Honeycomb but with Froyo. And the sourcode of Honeycomb isnt't even released yet. How did you get HC on your device?

It normally.
Because Screen resolution is higher than 160 Dpi. it is screen phone resolution
Why you not try to port it to phone? :)
