Thank God we New Yorkers got to hear this great artist this past year. Not only was it a respite from the disaster of Voigt's Minnie, but an incomparably (to Voigt) artistic and musical performance. The tension and intention in each phrase helped build the character of a worldweary, romantic and innocent dreamer and victim of circumstance: characteristics missed in Voigt's performance.
