I personally am not a fan of the band, but Nichol's concept album about "The Blood Meridian" is basically a perfect album, even if McCarthy basically wrote the damn thing.

The thing that makes Lucero so great is that all their songs come from the heart. At least that's what I think.  Being from a small southern town a lot of the subject matter in their songs hits hard and being a guitarist and singer, with a similar vocal style to Ben's, I identify even more. Sorry for taking up so much of your time.
