Come on America you won the first gold medal when it was at the Olympics.. you've got history in the game take that sh1t back and get back into the fold and push to own the game again that would be an awesome challenge!
It wou;ld be great to see the US get better at Rugby. Unfortunately the national team relies a lot on SH players to boost there performance. I think it is a race between football (soccer) and Rugby to capture the American imagination. I really hope Rugby does, as I believe Americans are naturally drwan to tough combative games. As a Kiwi, I would love to see a competitive US team.
@goosoid I agree, as a British person who MASSIVELY prefers rugby to Association Football (I can't bring myself to calling it... that word) I would love to see the US becoming a big rugby nation
@goosoid (I'm American) The deal is if Rugby was promoted as much as soccer, I think Rugby would win hands down. Promotion of soccer in this country is like trying to feed a baby food it does not want but the parents keep trying anyway. I don't know much about Rugby but I know that it is exciting and dynamic and that goes a long way here.
@jaegerhund The reason that rugby doesn't get promoted as much as soccer in your country is entirely down to the NFL in my opinion. Rugby becoming big would threaten american football's corporate supremacy as it offers all the same collisions and thrills, but in a more flowing, tougher, and let's face it, more watchable format. It's all about money - the NFL don't want to lose their fan base and their sponsorship deals.
@Spec0pleader i say not live cause it takes forever, watching the replay means no ads and stoppages are skipped. Thoughts of NFL vs Rugby? a real man watches any sport :P but yeah i watch both sports and admire the skills in both sports. only really got into American Football when i started Highscool so 6 years now.
The Eagles are 19th in The World According to the IRB World Rankings and Canada Are 15th so America have work to do.Ireland are only 8..jesus..we were at one stage 2nd in the world.
if only rugby was more popular than football.
