Defective RSX processor in my PS3?

The playstation 3 does have a bit of a problem with rendering some kind of shadows. They go all pixelated on the edge-- that's nothing to do with this though. That's the television settings not being able to match the settings you've turned on on your PS3. :)

@s2jdask8er, No. Shader aliasing is actually in most cases, intentional. And this is nothing to do with the TV, thats the RSX having some rasterization trouble. It should'nt happen on a spankin' new PS3. Call sony, and don't take any crap from them because if they've sold you a defective product, they're bound to fix it. Or at least give you a refund.

I loved PS2, I then moved onto 360 but than found an original halo 2 blue xbox outside, I took it home and repaired it, modded it and I loved it, so many features once modded. And PS2 just had such a massive game library. PS2 took the cake for the DRE. Xbox 360 takes it for the RROD and Nintendo never really has problems, well unless your my friends his wii's disc drive sounds like utter shit and sometimes he gets a DRE. PS2 still sells. Huge success it was.

its the TV they have problems like this, and check your settings some times the game's graphics can go outta range with your TV and cause weird glitches like that, it wouldnt be the console' or the RSX GPU, you simply labled that to "stick it to the PS3" even thou its your own fault for a shitty tv ;)

You've got superwhite and full colour range on when your TV doesn't support it. If turning them off makes no difference, try turning on and off the crosscoluor reduction filter.

Maybe to test to see if it was the game itself you could find another game (rent one if needed) just like it and if it does the same thing then maybe it is the ps3? by the way this video is rather old did you ever sswap your ps3 under warranty or not?

Altdan44, thats kind of funny, because the Xenos uses today's tech, while the RSX uses really old tech.

It's hard to tell which is better because the Xenos and RSX have very different architectures so it's not an apples to apples comparison. The only way to tell is just wait until programmers can use both chips to their peak performance efficiently. As for the CPUs, the PS3's cell is way more powerful than the 360s chipset, but only if it is used efficiently.

That seems like a heat problem, check to make sure that ur PS3's vents arnt being covered by anything and that its away from other sources of heat, if that dosnt help check the disk for scratches

UPDATE the system if your not on the latest version that may just solve the problem.

On my Fifa the audience disappered during play so i got the latest update form the ps3 site and i have had no problems since.

one question, when did you get your ps3 and how many gigabytes do you have? The 80gb are all fine from what i've heard. It's just the ps3 from 20 and 60gb are having trouble. The guys that bought a ps3 on launch day always have problems.

try unplugging the HDMI cable in the back of the ps3, wait a few secconds, plug it back in again and then it should work. if it doesnt, unplug the HDMI cable in the back of the TV wait a few secs and plug it back in again. and if that doesnt work check the wiring (if anything is loose take it out and put it back in again

yeah i agree, i experienced the same thing. with gthd, i deleted the demo and redownloaded it and it was fine. basically if you have a shitty connection speed and you try to download huge files, theres a chance its bugged.

sony hotline sucks. i asked for new controller cause my six axis is way too sensitive, i checked the settings and made it as low sensitivity as possible and didnt work, called sony, they said, "im sorry about your problem" i said "can you send me a new one" they said "were sorry your warranty expired" now i dont know if the people that run the hotlines are MENTALLY RETARDED or they all the sudden changed every bodys warranty to 3 months.

it's not u or the demo, it's the ps3 itself. you must have got one of the bad ones. i went over to my local wal-mart and theirs freezes. i go over to my local ebgames, theirs has slow-down problems. I'm afraid ur gonna have to call the sony hotline.

this is the demo you downloaded right? try deleting this one and download it again. if you already did that, then just exchange yours. hope this helps
