they dont care about a hand ful of fans like us! wish i ran sega because i'd listen to my fans. . . while trying to make profitable decisions. sega is a business therefore they probably feel that the risk outweigh the benefits!

I downloaded the original from the virtual console and loved it. This version looks interesting, so I might check it out when my Japanese becomes fluent.

I dunno, I think this remake kills the original version's charm. By the way, for those who haven't already gotten it and love the original Master System and Genesis PS games, you have to get Sonic's Ultimate Genesis COllection for the Xbox 360 or PS3, 'cause you get all 4 games in their original forms.

I was so excited when that game out. I'm about to start playing the original Phantasy Star for the first time! :) The great thing is there are around 40 great games and you can buy it for about $20 now! The only Phantasy Star game I've played all the way through is the 2nd one. Hard to believe that was about 20 years ago.

@MaxxTheSlash I have the Genesis Collection on ps2. has Phantasy Star 2 3 and 4. i beat 4 twice. still havent finished 2...i'm at the last Dam and omfg x_X frustrating. decided to take break from phantasy star 2 and started Sword of Vermillion...and wow! That game is awesome.

Hey Sega, bring Phantasy Star Generations 1 and 2 to North America either for the Nintendo DS or PS 2.

Perhaps writing to Sega will not be a bad idea.

I'd say they fit right in with Wiiware actually. Cheap development cost + cheap game cost = lots of sales = profit.

@alkafrazin Yes but Nintendo is infamous for its censorship. They seriously censored Final Fantasy 1-6 and Dragon Warrior.

No they didn't. There was very little censoring in those games, and it was done by the original companies or localization studios that translated them.

In the case of the games not being localized at all, that was due to market schedualing, which was done to bring the industry back from the brink of collapse, and worked quite well.

They certainly do censor games a lot, but certainly not to the point that anything like Phantasy Star would have any problems with it.

Sorry man, but I got the Japanese game.

There was suppose to be an update of PSIV as well but for some reason Sega canceled it as were the English translations.

Instead they made a compilation disc of the old four games for PS2.

I got my copies through Games Choice Club.

Beautiful! fantastic! man I love this game so much! till this day I will always remember that day when I went with my dad to the local mall, and he was able to purchase phantasy star 1 game for me! it was such a great day!!

It really pisses me off!! that sega hasn't released this in English till this day!! they shouldn't have to wait for ps4 to be done but anyways that stopped, which I think is beyond stupid so thanks for taken the time out to make theses videos nekomimi84! :)

Thanks for these wonderful videos! Ya, PS1 is the first one I didnt have much time to play the original.  this classic got a well deserved remake that expresses its story in a better light. ^_^
