Hello! I am a Protestant also interested in Orthodoxy...unfortunately I do not have an Orthodox church nearby, but I do scour the Internet for helpful articles. I will keep your books in mind! I was already aware of "The Orthodox Way" but the others sound interesting as well. Thanks for your encouraging others in the journey!!!
I enjoy your vids. Some books I studied in my Seminary classes that are great reads "Orthodox Spirituality" by Fr Dumitru Staniloae, and "Orthodox Dogmatic Theology" by ProtoPresbyter Michael Pomazansky. If you want some history on the Byzantine Empire that is full of info and fun to read there is a great trilogy by Sir John Julius Norwich, "Byzantium"...take care, Many Years....
I've been reading your YouTube posts and blog for some time now. I'm glad your posting some of this stuff on Eastern Orthodox church. It's interesting.
Me of course - I dont' know much about the Eastern Orthodox church other than it split off of the Roman Catholic church many years prior to the protestant reformation.
But anyways - thanks for the info - I'm finding it interesting.
I had to laugh when you said something about baptizing in a mountain stream in December!
(Polar Bear Baptism)
My son is also on the autistic spectrum. He's only 8 though. We go to an orthodox presbyterian church and I've been talking to him about baptism. He said yes, he wants to be baptized but he wants to be baptized in the hot weather so he's not cold. This church doesn't baptize in streams, but that's his understanding of baptism.
When I was studying I read a copy of The Orthodox Church I borrowed from the preacher at my protestant church. If only he knew! I would suggest not taking outside suggestions but follow your priest's outline or it can get totally overwhelming.

Thanks for posting this video! Yeah, I have the "Law of God" book as well. A mentor gave it to me 7 - 8 years ago.
I also love the Saint John Chrysostem book you have as well......I have the same book.
