I love my slg. It's not the ul but I upgraded to virtue board and the thing is great. Low maintenance and it'll keep up with the higher end guns with the upgraded board.

I love mine, in fact, this was my first ever paintball gun. Recently I've noticed that it is LOUD as hell!! Is this a problem? Any way to fix it? I mean this thing almost sounds like a real gun. Another thing, I'm a very inexperienced paintball player so don't bust my balls but, the regulator gets really cold after I put the co2 in. Is that supposed to happen? How can I fix it?

@Ozzieboy48 I have the 08 and the bolt broke and I sent back for service and they gave me the 09 bolt. For free, yes take the bolt but if ya gotta pay for the silenced bolt, dont bother cause it aint a huge difference. Save your money.

@xLuminary And so is a lot of other speedball guns. If you haven't noticed, a lot of new paintballers use the spyder guns as their first gun. This is people that don't know a thing about paintball and want to know what they are buying.

"speedball guns" actually tend to have entirely different internals and work entirely different from each other, usually by manufacturer. Spyder guns are all built the same way (give or take one or two odd ones) , dont require any maintainance, and are very straight forward. There arent many interesting specifications or anything that need to be explained, and because they are so cheap it doesnt really matter.

@eman115500 yeah pretty much. all the mechanical spyders have almost the exact same parts. some have a hpr on the regulator and some dont , some have a vertical feedneck some are angled, stuff like that, but its all really obvious or cosmetic stuff. you can tell what the difference is by looking at em. the electrics are the same exact thing just with an electronic trigger frame, some have eyes but it all says on the packaging im pretty sure. nothing you cant tell by looking at it

I have this gun in the 09 model but when i play about 6 rounds with it the gun locks up doesnt shoot until i press the pressure release button on the back. when i do that the gun , i think, over pressurizes and shoots multiple balls at once. ive tried to fix it several times but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

@jojojarom sadly. It was chopping ball every 5 balls, barrel breaks, not accurate and trigger keeped jamming. After I finished with it, got the owner and went through gun. Everything was 100% correct, rotor at right feed rate gun all perfect, its a very high maintence gun. But it is true that you can get a shit gun, then buy another and its a Dye NT perfect.

@ ballerboy and longhorndude, get the slg. I have the 08 slg and have put about 40 cases through it, and have only needed to replace the detents.  I wouldsuggest getting clamping feedneck and maybe a trigger ( personal preference). I have never bothered to buy an ego or dm because I've never had a problem with the slg

@stevenzwl ya same here i have an invert halo too and it always jams or pinches a ball and ALWAYS breaks at least like 2 balls everytime i play sometimes the button on the back of the bolt cap helps but sometimes it doesnt work for me.

That could be the bolt rollback that Mike was talking about. You may actually be clipping the 2nd ball on the stack, or crushing it. If so get a hold of Dye and they will replace it if I recall.

They are all great, I'd personally get the G4. The G3 really changed the mid to low market, its internals are the simplest of all the ones you listed, and it shoots great.

the slg are 75% a pain in the ass, the bolt is a spool-valve but works somehow like a spyder with a mechanical sear holding the bolt back. if the bold didn't catch the sear it shoots uncontrolled full-auto until it catches a ball not falling fast enough and get stuck. maybe changing o-ring helps sometimes, but the tolerances in the china-production seem to vary to extreme. I bought 5 and never got 2 to work. even dye cant fix it. (got broken slgs back from dye-tech, no kidding! :-( the guns suck

Hi Mike hows it going i have a couple quick questions, I just bought a 09 slg and it came with an asa on/off which sets the macro line off to the right this makes the hyper three reg. fitting kinda caulk eyed and i can move the reg. left to right freely. i was wondering if there was anyway I could tighten it so it doesn't move at all, when i set it where i want it. Also you said that i can blow the solenoid if the velocity is to high when way do i turn the allen key to turn the velocity down.Thx

@ERiley2010 idk about fps but take the macro line off of the reg or asa and twist the reg till tight to snug, dont force the reg anywhere because mien works fine when its loose....ive ask questions but never been answered, dont o anything if you dont know what your doing...ive made that mistake once
