  • @010abrown Seriously, he had a nose job? when??or is that just rumor? any how, you are right the man is incredible!

  • @ironman67

It was never put in the media, but if you look at the album covers from when he first started you can see it clearly, but this takes nothing away from him as an artist though, i love him!!

  • Anyone know who the pianist is? Just love the whole scene!!

  • @recovering16 Though it's hard to tell from the visuals here, it's probably his Argentinian pianist / music director at the time: Jorge Dalto (who died at the young age of 39).

  • @mohansen11 Thanks, Mohansen. The good pianists seem to die young. Another favorite is Richard Kermode, who played in Malo and for Janis Joplin. I learned that he died in the 80's or 90's.

  • @recovering16 agree that piano cant go unnoticed lol just so good

  • Of An Era. Beautiful. I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now.

  • George Benson, Alexander O'Neal, Teddy Pendergrass, Luther Vandross, Eddy Levert, Walter Williams en Sammy Strain (O'Jays), Peabo Bryson...

what great pieces of REAL music have they made... nowadays it's all synthetic and mediocrity

  • this is the midnight special right?

  • Its too Bad it's Not recognized in Black History how Slavery was Overturned by The Republicans!! The Democratic party is always more interested in Personal Power THAN Freedom And Absolute Power over others is what Slavery was Built on. The earlier revolt centered around a single issue Slavery, and today's revolves around an Entire governing philosophy.

Let's hope the OUR U.S.of A. can Free itself and our Children from Economic Slavery This Time Around.... Tick-Tock:)

  • People just had more class back in the day..

  • THEY WERE GOOD IN THOSE DAYS THEY DIDNT RELY ON PRO TOOLS INSTEAD THEY RELIED ON THERE TALENT.

THESE DAYS AN ARTIST CANT EVEN RECORD ONE SONG WITHOUT USEING PRO TOOLS

  • I wonder if Benson influenced Matheny with his using his voice as an instrument while also playing the guitar on this piece?

Not many others use this technique. WIth Benson, it's almost a carry over of scat from dirty blues, I think.

With Metheny, the signing of simple sounds made the voice a separate instrument in its own right.

  • @irishsky005 scatting is what it is called. it's a jazz thing and your right it is really on the verge of being extinct but there are some very awesome females rnb acts who do it very well

  • GB Style ☆☆☆☆☆

  • I beg do differ. The album in its original (in which my parents have) is awesome. However that is a very good live version.

  • This Is The Best Video & The Way I Remember Him Playing it ^_^

  • I love watching/hearing him scat!! He's the best

  • hate to dissapoint both of you, but this is the only version worth listening to. nothings ever as good as the original and noone can copy his wonderful soulful words

  • @fucker661 George's version wasn't the original. Leon Russell wrote it and performed it on album "Carney" in 1972.

  • @scabonz wasn't arguing about who made the song, just about this being the best sounding with Benson.

  • straight hate, if someone doesn't think he a good enough vocalist then they must not sing. true soul music and then he has the nerve to play the guitar. if we can praise eric clapton and other guys who pull off the same thing then give up props that's due to George Benson. this dude still sells out...

  • george knows

  • Just Love George Benson..He's simply dA' best.....My idol and source of inspiration since my high school days, that leads me winnin' many singing competition..George I owe it everythin' to you bro.

Please come again to Malaysia and perform. My GREATEST WISH IS TO SING MASQUERADE WITH YOU ON STAGE AT THE PUTRA WORLD TRADE CENTRE IN KUALA LUMPUR.....PLEASE MAKE MY DREAM COME THRU'.....

    CHEERS.

    BROT.ISHMAEL : )

  • you gotta be kidding about his voice...he sounds freakin fantastic

  • Classic!

  • Great guitarist, barely passable singer.

  • @infinera06 a very unfortunate post. George is so far past "great guitarist" it is not even serious.

He was a great guitarist at the age of 12. He is a legend. The comment about his singing is ridiculous.

  • AMAZING!!!

  • isto é de um tempo que se curtia a noite dançando ao lado de belas mulheres!!!!!!!!!!!

  • man that is fresh!

  • George, As I remeber him. since his radical surgery, he has lost that something...

  • I love how smooth his scat section was =)

  • too funny.. never noticed he had a nose job

  • Such a pro he never delivers the sang the same way twice.

  • Yes right !!! The original Benson with the original "soul nose"!!! Beautiful work here George!!!

  • With a Gibson too...

  • That's better... the real George Benson with the SOUL NOSE he was born with.

  • @63Brummie Yeah ament to that !!! He is far more handsome here. Pure and authentic

  • @63Brummie WHAT HAPPENED TO HIS NOSE...?

  • @63Brummie are you tellin me this MF clipped his nose to

  • @detestsheeple LOL!! Oh no!

  • LOL!! Goes to show how damage black people really are. I mean there was absolutely nothing wrong with his nose in the first place. A shameful complex....But when all is said and done, this man is pure Genius on the guitar.
