I checked the Rod index and it says that 5477 songs have fair thee well as part of the first line. I haven't checked the results but I'm guessing a lot of them will be variants of the same songs - I know of about a two dozen variants of Fair thee well Eniiskellin on the Roud index, for example. But yes, that's the number it came up with.
