  • Ok, thanks. Very inspiring project. I bought this project guitar last week and will finish priming tomorrow.

  • Are you using 3/4" tape for just the black and 1/2" and 1/4" for the white? Are any of the white stripes 1/8"?

  • @ricklee993 no 1/8 stripes. all 3/4,1/2 and 1/4

  • you must read this. once you have started there is no turning back. a little 10 year old girl was raped and murderded in 1945. her body was not found until 1947. then a boy last week read this and did not copy and paste this message. the dead girl appeared in his room haunting him and killed him. if you do not copy and paste this onto 10 videos in 30 minutes the dead girl will apear in your room tonight and haunt you and kill you. well you better start to copy and paste

  • do u recommend any other clear coat spray besides rustoleum lacquer. ive tryed and tryed to get the clear coat right. its just not working!! ive let a guitar sit for 5 weeks and its still not cured!! then i had a piece of plastic on it accident and it melted my shit. i cleared it then stripped it cuz it wasnt working, 6 times

:(( HELP ME PLEASE!! thanks abunch man

  • @tubbybrandon try to find a paint in a polyurethane. that stuff is hard as steel well prettty much. you could also try actual car paint and clear coat. its all the same process. those to would hold up very well

  • @vanhalen5150jhs

Hey is this body different from a regular strat body PLEASE HELP!!!

  • @1977BanditTransAM it has a single Humbucking pickup with single volume control with a floyd rose trem. the body should have contour like a KRAMER Baretta or Focus 1000

  • what's a good guitar for doing this to. I know Kramer just what model

  • @Sean2592 kramer focus 1000 or a kramer striker 100st both have the single humbucker pickup

  • dou you have to sand the paint before putting another color or more important

    the clear coats?

  • @evilguitar9430 do not sand the paint. no sanding the clear coat untill the clear coat has fully cured and dryed.

  • @vanhalen5150jhs so the only sanding you do after you start painting is the wet sanding of the clear coat after it's fully cured?

  • @ATMACDC08 yes

  • do u have any tricks to keep the spray paint from running?

  • @porschekid16 temp will help if it's about 80 degrees. also spray in thinner coats i rotate the guitar, i spray inside the horns, the sides, bottom, the back and then the front, in a horizontal direction. then i alternate spraying it vertkical up and down. then the next coat will be side to side and then the next coat up and down. thin coats untill it is a solid color. if you have to wait 15 to 20 minutes betweeen coats this will help prevent running. thin coats & drying time between coats

  • @porschekid16 Yea take your time and one thin coat a day

  • thanks for your kindness..cheers!

  • hi

can i use car acrilyc spray paint and do you use ordinary masking tape?

  • @oskie66skye yes

  • @vanhalen5150jhs ok can i use all rustoleum enamel and clear coat?

  • @muddypuddlerules yes, as long as they are both enamels.

  • do you put the kramer logo on THEN put the clear coat of paint on the headstock, or do you put the kramer logo after the paints all done??

  • Hey man, looks good. I painted my strat and have the lineslooking good and all. I have applied a few clear coats. I was wondering, did you experience any trouble with the paint chipping away at the lines? I am afraid when i go to wet sand with 1500 grit, it will tear into the paint lines and cause it to chip.

    Thanks!

  • @meat7828 you need to spary at least 20 coats of clear or 3 cans of clear coat. so when you wetsand it evens it all out. that why we spray so much clear is to fill in the the paint lines but alot comes off during the wetsanding to get it all smooth and even.

  • Hei man what does "buffed with rubbing compound." mean?

  • you use a 100% cotton cloth and rubb the rubbing compound in a circular motion and it takes out all the fine scratches and and bring back the shine to the clear coat.

  • thanks for the advice man.one more question.you did the wetsandind by yourself? If you did, how?because i dont know what you need for this proces.Otherwise, where did you go?:D

  • I'm impressed that you did this with rattlecans. I use a spraygun and get the same results. Looks very nice. I did a bee black and yellow there easy to do and fun. Your vids are very good for tips and tricks keep em up.

  • Dude, you're a good guitarist. Any tips for when I do my evh guitar?

  • have patience and take your time and it will look awesome.

  • How do you think it would look on a warlock?

  • Duuude, I painted my warlock black w/ red stripes. It gives it sort of like a ghost rider/racer x evil kind of feel.

  • please watch my purple one

  • it is paint. check out my newer video, how to paint a 5150 evh project part 7 and it shows how to paint the black stripes.

  • how many red coats

  • i only did one, but it you think you cant do it all at once without the paint running then do a couple of coats.

  • cool, only thing thats diff is that Edwards were not shiny and smooth....

  • how the hell do the black lines just appear. how do u do them? please explain! :L

  • first you put a piece of tape where you want the black line to be. then you put tape on both side of it and then pull the middle piece off. then with tape and paper maskint the other areas of the guitar you dont want paint get on. spray with black paint then remove the paper and tape and you will have the black lines on the guitar

  • what is wet sanding exactly.explain someone plz

  • use 1000 grit wetsandpaper and small sanding block. i use a small piece of 1x2 inch block of wood. get it wet in a bowl of water and sand the clear in small circular motion doing little sections at a time. untill you have done the entire guitar. make sure it is now smooth and you cant feel the paint lines. but dont sand through the clear into the paint. now buff the guitar with 3m's brand rubbing compound and 100% cotton cloth again a small area at a time untill it all done.

  • what kind of gloss did you use because I typically use polyurethane full gloss. If you used laquer did you have an air brush to put it on? and how long did you wait after applying the gloss to wet sand

  • i used rustoleum lacquer. i waited 2 to 3 weeks for it to cure then wetsanded and buffed with rubbing compound.

  • love that 5150 guitar. good work.

  • love the videos projects. yea fuck WMG and ELVH they suck.
