THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON".......VIVE PINK FLOYD !
This is a good version of one of my Fav Floyd tracks. No one does it as well as the orginal band but this comes very close and they add their own take on the song which is always good. The worst version of this ever in my mind was the version by the Sissor Sisters. And yes i have seen Pink FLoyd twice and their versions differ slightly as well.
1st off, very talented musicians, but i felt like i was in a ferrari with a fiat engine :(
looks good, but huge difference in the performance... and it shows. the non bass playing singer, sounded like he was performing for an audition rather than expressing feeling within the music.. sorry, but will take a hell of a lot better than this to take my attentions away from the original or any other pink floyd performance... just my opinion
David Gilmour donated one of his guitars to the band and had them play at a party he held - now that is a big plus for a tribute band - the original member is a fan !!!!!
Comfortably Numb was the starting point to become a songwriter. So all Floyd fans are kindly invited to have a listen to my music. I've been told more than once that my music almost bursts of Gilmour & Knopfler influences. Well, check it out.Click my name...
Holy moly, this is really bloody bad...and I was open minded too! This guy looks like a cheap ass bogan undertaker your wouldn't let wheel your dead ferret away let alone your grandma. The backing singers...... :/. And these guys are touring the U.K again....dear lord(not a sin...because I said so)
@AJSUBLA You were 'open-minded' and then based your opinion on how the singer looked 8D... honestly, I didn't really like it either, been listening to too many Pink Floyd live shows recently, just jarred a little. Would probably like it a bit more given time and abstinence, but... that's not gonna happen haha. That they're a talented bunch is fairly undeniable tho.
I gotta say this: I see many posts saying "noone can play this solo like David, etc.". However, this solo is just awesome, personal, original and professional. It's uncomparable to David's original, not because it's better nor worse, but because it's so different in many aspects. My opinion is, that this version of the solo is just spectacular, just as the original.
After watching Brit Floyd I have to say this is a very poor version... Singing is pub standard, backing vocals are weak. Each to their own I guess, but these guys just don't cut it.
theres something about this solo which just sounds great original of course off the album. this is good but its not as good as off the album. i dont think even david gilmour can get it perfect to the recording again
Pink Floyd may have retired but at least in live performance, their legacy lives on with these guys. TAPF are a great band in their own right - let alone a tribute band and deserve their own acclimation.
what a pleasure too see a bunch of middle age men for-filling the real way of music... it makes my stomach churn too hear these amazing humans do what young performers nowadays fail too do.. :)
First Class ! I've only see these guys once, must of been around 20 years ago in a small bar in Falmouth Cornwall (definitely a Floyd Tribute band - think it was this Oz lot anyway).Maybe you guys recall it - Bar is now called 5 Degrees West, but may of then been called the Cutty or Clipper Bar (can't remember !) Anyway, this performance is faultless - I've seen the real PF do far lesser renditions themselves (yes I have them on video - bum notes and all!)
My very first concert ever was the original Floyd's (minus Syd Barrett of course) "Dark Side Of The Moon Tour" live at Milwaukee County Stadium on June 22, 1975...I saw the original Floyd's "Animals Tour" at Chicago's Soldier Field in May of 1977 and I can say that the Aussie Floyd is the only band on the planet that even comes close to putting on an original Floyd Show...I've seen the Aussies 4 times since 2004 (the last time was October 22nd, 2011) and I will never miss another Aussie Show!
WTF why is everyone just sitting there bobbing their heads?!?!
Everytime i see Aussie Floyd we are dancing in the isles, seriously once you start dancing it spreads, everyone is soon at it!!!! Love the Aussie Floyd!!!!!
saw these guys a few years ago in Glasgow and they are simply brilliant - wish they would put a camera on lead guitarist during the solos so the audience can see his technique and style.
I saw them last year on their UK tour. Superb. Would love to see them again this time around. I am too young to have seen the original, but judging by opinion, these are as near as you will ever get. Brilliant.
Hum... I really don't see the point of seeing these guys, especially since David and Roger are always on tour, one after the other (seen them 6 times in 6 years). The covers are ok but... I'm not saying it's stupid or that it's a ripp off... I just don't get it !
@gilmourguitar123 they have been listening to Pink Floyd since inside the woomb,i will definitely take them to the show ( their first live concert) Thank you for the info.
@AldCastillo I think it depends on where you live. if you would live in Germany you are allowed to stay until 10 pm on the concert. relationship as your daughters ...
But if you live in the United States can all be very different.
At 4:44 we can see two spots where nobody is .. i bet they both are having sex on the floor on the best solo ever .. they are young, that's why they couldn't have done it with the real pink floyd.
pink floyd fan seen 5 times 3 @ earlscourt. saw australian pink floyd at excel city airport few years back, me and my daughter, we were well impressed! BRILLIANT INSTRUMENTAL! and female vocals were great!
pink floyd fan seen 5 times 3 @ earlscourt. saw australian pink floyd at excel city airport few years back, me and my daughter, we were well impressed! BRILLIANT INSTRUMENTAL!
Ce morceau me donnera toujours la larme à l'oeil et la chair de poule tellement j'en suis sensible , mais là , TAPFS se surpasse , et encore ça n'est pas ce surpasser , c'est montrer à quel point ils ont du talent . Chapeau
that was a great rendition, kudos.gotta say i still prefer the origonal crew who actually started the band.i thought the singers and the lead guitarist was far superior to this but none the less i cannot play like this so all in all good job.
@gavinbeaumont1972 Hi Gavin, This is the origial crew. Steve Mac, Colin Wilson and Jason Sawford started this band 22 years ago. There was a horrible legal battle that meant they couldnt tour the US for 4 years and were substituted, but now they are back.
@aussiefloyddotcom thanks for setting me straight im a big fan.what i should have said was i preferred the liverpool rendition when damien was singing with the bass player and damiens solo was mind blowing
@aussiefloyddotcom Something doesn't jive with this explanation. The announcement of the split came in the summer of 2010, and Jason Sawford toured the US in 2008 during "The Wall" tour. What was the legal battle you speak of? If it was the production company, doesn't the band "hire" the production company?
Not too keen on the vocals but the music is great.
