hey! great pony! very gorgeous! great rider as well, I dont know how you do so much sitting trot, my pony has such an odd trot that i end up slowing him down without thinking about it so its more comfy!

Hes four and I was wondering if you could give me some tips on how to teach him some basic lateral stuff, including some simple aids I can explain to my mum so she can do them! Also any tips on helping him get the right lead? he is pretty flexible but unbalanced.

RealMcCoy - for sitting trot, ride with no stirrups to develop ur seat & thus helping the sitting trot. Lateral work:try a few simple shoulder-ins and leg yields. Give REALLY obvious aids - don't give mixed messages. Use a small leg aid then let your leg hang by your side in the leg yield. If you get no response, use larger aid. Remember, u want ur pony to go off the lightest aid possible. In the shoulder in, bring both hands to the inside & use your inside leg. 4 canter strike off, make aids..

*ran out of room!* ...really obvious also. To do walk > canter, when you feel that your outside cheekbone is DOWN, slip your outside leg back. Also, (this may sound strange) but if your pony is leaning on the hand in the canter transition, you lean on them, and ask for the canter again. Immediately give if they give. Also, because your pony in unbalanced, use transitions to help him sit on his hind end more, to collect him. Let me know how you get on, & good luck!! xxxx

And ofc, you are very good to ;)I dont know if its right to ask you these kinds of qustions but I make a try; my pony j just rushes when I make her galop and when I hold her in she just break off and start trotting. No problem (: I don't know whether this will be any help to you, but I'd try and make her more submissive..so go around on a circle and flex/bend her head and neck to the inside..then when she gives, you give back with the rein. Also move the bit quickly in her mouth by vibrating the reins with your hands..Then use your outside rein to make her drop her head downwards (: I've had a similar problem with my pony! Tell me how it goes & good luck! xxxxx

It's really embaressing I have been riding for about 7 years and am always losing my stirups I was wondering if you had any ideas that would help me keep my stirups? I have a big show coming up and don't want to embareris my instructor. Really enjoyed your video! beautiful riding!

To 08dressageGal..firstly, make sure your stirrups aren't too long..if that's not the case, make sure you aren't gripping up onto the saddle with your knees..i used to do this, and you can easily lose your stirrups!! Finally, take a look at your saddle..big knee rolls are a great help, as they keep your leg/thigh in place :) Also, I found that loads of work with no stirrups & generally improving your seat help a lot :D Hope this helps :)
