@tink999 The poi will stay isolated the whole way in the 5 beat weaves, they have to 'float' or moved as a whole spinning object to the other side of your body.
That breakdown you do at 3:16 is exactly what I want my style to encompass... it's like your painting with the fire; not constrained to circles as usuall.

if you have the 5 beat isolated weave down, then the poi will stay parallel during the entire spin. PM me for more help.

Those aint sticks dude! They're either twist link or ball chains. Ball chains, I'm betting on, and fiberglass/Kevlar blend wicks.

Thats great! it's how I meditate as well.
I spin with cotton/kevlar wicking and dog leash sized chain. I weight my handles with excess chain as to aid in tosses.
