yes it is definitely easier to meet people online than in person.. BUT.

when you start to date someone or know someone from the internet (that you meet in person), and people ask you how you met them, would you feel awkward to say you met them online, myspace, facebook, etc..?

For me, I feel a bit weird to say something like that and more drawn to come up with a different reason on how i met a person..

I've found friends online that I haven't met face-to-face. Some of those friendships last and we talk once in a blue moon, others I talk to for a while and then never "see" again. I've noticed that I'm definitely starting to build some sort of connection with people on YouTube, and I'm liking it. =)

I am like you, Michelle. More than 2 people is a crowd for me, so the Internet (and, before the Internet, BBS's , Prodigy and AOL) is my preferred way of communicating and making friends. I'm great one-on-one in person, but online communication makes it so much easier to be myself. I only had one bad experience - everything else has either been good or so-so. Safety is key.

Hey Michelle, I met my girlfriend (of 2 and a half years) on the internet and we're still going strong so I'm totally with you on this one.

The only problem was that she's Australian... and I'm Irish. So you can imagine that was an intense first-meeting at the airport when she flew here to see me.

But she's still here, and we're sorting out her visa so that she'll hopefully be able to stay more permanently. Definitely give internet relationships a chance, you might find your soulmate!
