they were ok, but i personally think byrnes was better. the boiling springs show this year is awesome, it's about the periodic table. what is with them and their scientific terms? anyway, they beat us at rock hill, and we have a lot of work to do if we want to beat them!

@youzurnayme It was an electronic Woodwind instrument. A Windjammer i believe it was called. I always hated it, its always been really pitchy when we've used it

@Yeabrett123 Oh, alright. I actually understood because some of the best solos during a marching show sound horrible on a video because the audio sometiimes gets messed up. But I asked considering one of my friends said they had a solo and they're in that band but it might have been from a different year.

very nice visual program... impressive... great arrangement. I hate sousaphones, no projection, always out of tune.... invest in convertable or over the shoulder marching tubas! Percussion book could have been written & performed better.

Awesome show, liked the sax choir toward the end. Great all around. I think this was my favorite this year.

But still not enough to beat the marching symphany. Err, I mean Wando.

Great job, Boiling Springs. I have close friends that have children in your program, know some of your staff, and teach students that have many friends in your program. We are very proud of you and what you have accomplished over at Dorman! Keep up the great work! You, your staff, and many of your parents are an inspiring presence in the county and state for many! It is exciting watching you excel to higher heights each year! I can't wait to see what you are able to accomplish in Fall 2010!

Yeah, it was better in the Prelims performance.

If I remember right they played it on one of those woodwind synthesizers that you blow through. Both times the guy playing it seemed kind of unfamiliar with it. still a great show.

whew okay. just saying that it wasnt hte soloist fault for his mishap, it was the ELECTRICAL instrument. it was really hard for him to deal with that but then he rocked when he got back on the stand. and second of all the solo had no affect on the bands score.

Irmo made National Finals got 10th place, won the Ispirto de Corps award, and won 10 straight. Not hating on Wando, they are an amazing band look at my comments on their video. Like I said they had a better finals run, but this is the BOILING SPRINGS video, if you want to comment about Wando, why don't you do it on their page?

I know I'm from Byrnes and not supposed to like you or whatever, but jeez louise, there were so few mistakes, whats NOT to like?! Anyone who says they don't is J-E-A-L-O-U-S!! It was amazing BSH. Congrats on 2nd place, even though I hoped and prayed you'd beat you-know-who after prelims. SOMEONE needs to, and if not us, I'd be honored to say it was someone who lived so close! Okay, I'm not trying to be hard on you or anything, but I was there that night, and there seemed to be A LOT of "haters" in the audience. Do you believe, HONESTLY in your heart that Boiling Springs, Byrnes, or ANY other band in attendance that night is truly as good as Wando? Or do you, like EVERYONE else, just hate them and want to see them lose? You think any other band would have placed 11th overall at Grand Nats? BSH went last year and they didn't even make it past prelims. Think about that.

People from Boiling Springs don't hate Wando, alot of us enjoy the competition between the two bands, no one here said that Wando cheated or rigged the competition, Wando deserved the first place they got this year as they have in years past, Boiling Springs was comparable to Wando this year, but neither were significantly better than the other, certainly not a three point difference in my opinion. Wando still deserved to win though, and they deserved to get 11th at nationals. (cont. on 2nd msg)

I was there too and I'm not sure where you were sitting, but I am a B. Springs Band parent & I saw no hatred towards Wando! As a matter of fact, when Wando performed the majority of our fans gave them a standing ovation! There seems to be mutual respect between the two bands...unlike the other 2 bands from our county, which showed no respect after the awards ceremony! BTW, if BSHS had THIS show at GNat'ls last year I most certainly believe the outcome would have been different!

Mutual Respect, YES! We've only been in 5-A for 3 yrs & I've watched the camaraderie between Wando & BSHS develop. They do respect one another. I'm not talking about fans in the stands, I'm talking about BAND MEMBERS! After the awards ceremony BOTH bands merge to congratulate...I KNOW this because I was down on the field with my son, saw & heard what was being said! Noone said that Wando isn't deserving! We are VERY proud that a SC school placed at GN! Don't put words in our mouths!

I sat with a group of parents from BSH on the 50 about ten rows up. They gave NO congratulations to the Wando parents in the row ahead of them when the scores were announced and TOLD ME that they thought the whole thing was rigged. There had to be at LEAST a hundred BSH folks in the stands so I'm sure you weren't around ALL of them. Again, READ THE COMMENTS! Some of them ARE from BSH kids and they're NOT all positive. You want to defend your school? Fine. But don't state things you cant defend

Trust me, we had MORE than 100 supporters there and IF you did sit around a few that didn't agree with the outcome then that's THEIR opinion! Nothing wrong with that! I mean, can't you just be happy that a band from South Carolina is doing so well at the national level? It's EXTREMELY rare that SC even sends band to Grand Nats, and there's only been ONE other band to ever make it to finals. Just because Wando wins so much doesn't mean anythings' "rigged" or that Wando "cheats", it just means that Wando has set the bar at a level that no band in SC has yet match. So BS and JFB didn't win, big deal. That's NOT what marching band is about!!!!

I'm from boiling Springs, this was my senior show and i'll admit that that we weren't hands down better than them. But as i said earlier i don't believe that i was a three point difference between the two finals performances.
