the handlebars would just lock up and wouldnt budge
i thought it was a problem with the front dif lock but it was the CV joint, it was just torn to peices in there
mine started out like yours, just a little cut in the boot. you should check and make sure theres nothing broken in there. or it might just be as simple as a rock getting in there and jamming it up every once and a while
I have an 06 brute 750 with 30x10x14 on the front, I change all bushings and bearings for under 175 bike rides like new for over 650 very hard miles. the next change I will make is the upper control arm bearing will go back with a teflon bushing (custom made) with grease zirts.
