This is the only cast list I've seen so far that I could honestly get behind. It's funny because I was just looking through another list and thinking I'd never be happy with any casting for Raist since he was always my favorite...the only one I could come up with was Bowie - glad to see I'm not the only one. (Incidentally, reading some of the other comments, while Raist is supposed to be as young as Caramon, he is also supposed to look aged far beyond his years...)

Here's the solution to the Raistlin/Caramon dilemma. Have the brothers who played the Weasley twins in the Harry Potter movies play the roles. Have one start lifting/tanning and go on steroids to be Caramon, while the other loses weight and never gets any sunlight to be Raistlin haha.

yeah, but you have to remember that raistlin is extremely frail and thin. even in their youth the twins looked somewhat different from each other. so although raist will resemble caramon, he wont look identical to him. thus, having the same actor would not be required.

@exsandric Caramon, if you read books such as the legends trilogy and many other books in dragonlance and really look deeper at caramon, I at least find that he has a deeper level to him, a sort of wisdom beyond intelligence, his wisdom compensating for his brothers lack thereof and vice versa. In this way, a lot of the parts russel crowe has played in movies the characters have had this wisdom, so for that aspect I think he could pull it off.
