correct. The media got today all wrong. This is just a uni-directional beam not smashing into anything. The actual "danger" comes in 6-8 weeks when counter-rotating beams are smashed together. This was just a test beam in one direction at a time. No smashing yet. Smashing occurs in 6-8 weeks.

I'm no physicist. I do objectively observe well. I don't think anything cataclysmic will occur as a result of the collisions. I don't think they will find the higgs boson. Then again, I am a christian so that complicates my opinion. I do think it's possible that a malfunction will cause the ring to explode with great force leaving a big ass crater. I doubt anything "earth ending" will occur though.
