  • Lol just stumbled across this when browsing youtube for animation stuff, I love it, and I completely agree with what you say about the boil effect and windsor mccays gertie

  • Hmm, I saw this video a couple months ago, but I didn't know that it was over a year old! If you feel up to it, I think that you should add a background to it. The treadmill looking sneak part at the end could be correct if the background pans the right way.

  • LOL! Hilarious. Good job, too.:D

  • Wow that's awesome! That must've taken forever to draw :o I've just completed my 3rd short animation, so I know it takes a lot more time to do that most people think.

The motions are very very good. You've really got talent.

Are you studying traditional animation at some collage or university?

  • You realize, of course, that Gertie the Dinosaur is by the great American cartoonist, Winsor McCay, and therefore is not Brit animation. Other than that, not bad.

  • Good job-cycles are a tough, I still have to learn alot about them myself.

No critcism just complement-college is still about a year off for me(Classical Animation:VanArts..hopefully!)

  • I thought it was awesome, well done ^^

Just watch out for those annoying lines that appear when he walking.

  • i liked that

  • Hei dude can you tel me in detale how you made thae whole thing ? like did you draw it all and what did you use and how many frames whel all of it .Thanx :)

  • wow pretty good for a first walk cycle. I think my major coment would be to watch out for the sneak part near the end. That is tricky, but it looks like he's on a treadmill, especially if you just watch his feet, i think you need a few more frames, it moves a bit too fast there. and when he says 'splendid', he leans forward a bit much, and looks off balance. but really good job on the walk cycle, much better than most firsts I've seen!

  • Thanks, I see what you mean about him leaning - his center of balance is too forward.

And the treadmill-ness... is is because his hind foot moves backwards too fast as he goes forwards? So adding say a few inbetweens or redoing the frames so the 'lunge' forward isn't as dramatic might make it look more like the 'cam' is following him, rather than his feet are getting dragged backwards by a treadmill.

Thanks again for the critique, it's really useful.
