Have you had any issues with the magnifier flipping back to its upward position? For instance if you were running with your rifle, holding it sideways (for whatever reason), or making sharp movements.
I wanna ask you one thing - why do you preferred exactly the T-1 Micro? Why not Comp M3 or M4? How I can see, this sight became one of the most popular among the tactical shooters. Can you explain?
@Vectar84 I say its because it has an 80k hour battery life and weighs about as much as the eotech's batteries. I own an eotech and love it but my next sight will be an aimpoint R-1 for the new ruger 22/45
actually I believe there is a mount that does do that, there is one featured on one of the magpul dvds and I've seen one in real life (not sure if it was technically spring loaded) but the guy hit a lever and the thing snapped to the side. But just like magpul said the mount would snap back into position (sometimes) if you made sharp movements
@THarrisson This is one of my primary concerns. I'm trying to find the right 3x magnifier with a flip to side feature.can you link me to that article or video talking about EOTech's G23 snapping back into place at times?
search on youtube for Quick Flip Aimpoint 3x from user samson manufacturing (one word i think) theres a vid of a guy who pushes a button and boom it flings over
What range was that, 200 or 300yrds? If money was not an option is it really worth it? In reviews It has an effective range of 425yrds can it be pushed out to 500yrds?
but there are people that use irons out to 800 yards effectivly in combat conditions, so im sure you could get it to shoot at 500 if you, your ammo, and your gun can.
@Maloner78 650.00+ dollars for a 3x aimpoint magnifier plus mount is very pricey Sure they are very durable but magnification is not very much. I would look into the Mako 7X with detachable mount it is selling for 170.00 on ebay with free shipping and it is brand new. The Ocular has 1.65 inches eye relief. It is water proof, shock proof, and fog proof. Mako offers lifetime warranty on their products and are designed for Eotech and aimpoint red dots. This is NOT a TOY. Check it out.
@GunWebsites I got an Aimpoint red dot mostly because It has circuits in it and wanted something whose circuits were not gonna get fried or water to get in it. Fixed Magnifiers dont break so easy is just polished glass.Aimpoint 3X is probably the best magnifier in the marget because it was designed for combat. Most people are recreational shooters and don't need that kind of durability, for 100.00 you can get a MAKO 3X with lifetime WARRANTY. Good for hunting but I wouldn't take it to a war.
@TDoginNC You do not want your dot toooo big remember at longer distances your target gets smaller and with magnification the dog gets bigger and a big dot will cover your entire target giving you poor accuracy. The benefit tho is aimpoint red dot has 9 settings and that is including the off mode.
how will this thing work with the new 34mm tube? (H34S/L) ???
If the the magnifier makes the red dot much bigger, whats the point in getting one??
I hunt Moose in Scandinavia with a 9.3 semiauto. I have ordered the new H34S. To be able to hunt every year, i have to hit a 30mm target at 100 meters, 5 shots.
How will the aimpoint without a magnifyer do???
Anyone have experience with aimpoint at a 100m ???
@acr1980 well the dot gets 3x bigger since your using a 3x magnifier on the red dot. if you shooting target lets say the size of a zombie you should be able to hit it at about 500 meters with this set up. Anything further than that you need a real scope.
They look the business , new system as opposed to other switch zoom multi role combat sights.Never used one though so who knows how effective they are.Saw the British Army were testing a 2 sight arrangement recently.
too bad that micro has a 4moa dot.. covers the entire target w/3x at 100yds.. they should come out with a 2moa micro.. for now compm4 w/3x works great

Aimpoints are for poor people and airsoft guns. Real soldiers use eotech's. Last time I saw an aimpoint was in basic training. Acogs are better too, but I prefer a eotech with magnifier and flip to side mount. You get what you pay for though, and aimpoint is just fine for airsoft
I run the 3x/LarueQD & CompM4s/LarueQD on my SOCOM II (the real deal) and it's perfect for my purposes. I wouldn't think the 3x would be all that useful for AS as you'll be looking out past what you can shoot accurately. Target acquisition on near targets would seem slower with increased mag also. Dunno never really got into the AS thing though so I'm no expert. Also a bit expensive. Though hell if you have a real rifle to use it with or all ready have one...why not!
@toastertomattoe Well this magnifier was designed to be used with red dots or nighvision scopes. red dots are much quicker for target aquisition than standard scopes. Aimpoint red dot plus magnifier is for semi sniping at 300 meters range. I use a red dot no magnifier and can shoot milk gallons at 100 meters using no bipod. Good sights are more important than magnifiers my opinion. You can find cheap magnifiers 50 bucks ebay vs aimpoint magnifier about 600.00
heck no dude let me modify then aimpoint, toilet paper, 3xmag(maybe),light,grip and can opener (undecided wich 1st on that one)...plus a hanger to dry my socks=the utimate infantry mans wep.................(maybe on the 3x cause might just chuck it all and go with acog)
I just recently put an Aimpoint Compm4s on my LWRC M6A3. LaRue is the way to go, when it comes to mounts. They cost a bit more, but they're worth every last penny. My next "plunge" will be on the 3x magnifier; you can bet that it'll be on a LaRue mount too.

yea i got the larue mount. i actually ordered the compm4 and magnifier from the larue website with the mounts. so whats your opinion of your lwrc are they as good as the internet rumors say??
I've had no problems with mine. I've had no jams of any kind, no stovepipes, no failures to feed, and no double feeding. I have absolutely no complaint of any kind. I'm sure other companies offer quality products (the new Ruger seems to be doing well) but LWRC has left nothing to be desired.
You're going to be very happy with your purchase, when you finally get your rifle. You made a good choice :]
I have an LWRC M6A2 and luv it. w/a CompM4 and am looking @ 3X magnifier. What LaRue mount do you recommend for the mag. and why? Pivot or twist? and if pivot is short okay and does it get out of the way as much as the tall?
Not to dodge your question, but I highly recommend calling/emailing the fine people @ LaRue. They can answer your questions better than anyone else, and they will gladly help you decide on what mount would be best for you. They're extremely helpful/friendly.
I have nothing but good things to say about that company and their staff. You will be able to tell that they value your business!
@essemgy I got an Aimpoint red dot and love mine to death. Very quick target aquisition can shoot gallon jugs even at 100 meters but i am not using any magnifier or bipod. Personally I think sights are much more important than magnifiers. 600 dollars for a 3x magnifier seems a little steep but 650 for the aimpoint red dot was worth it in my opinion the sights sure damn accurate and easy to place.
After all the money you spend for the Aimpoint red dot sight, the magnifier, and the mounts wouldn't it be better to just buy an ACOG for a little more?
Have you ever tried out the Larue magnifier that comes with the pivot mount? I would love to know if that magnifier is just as good as the expensive Aimpoint.
An ACOG is a very durable optic, however it's eye relief is very short and narrow. Meaning the shooter needs to keep their eye in a relatively small area close to the optic for it to be in focus.
The Aimpoint is much more forgiving meaning the shooters eye can be much further back and even off to a side and the optic still works.
In addition to that, the non magnified Aimpoint is much more versatile for shooting moving objects (eyes don't need to focus through magnified lenses)
