The rebounds of the hand sound great, I guess time is needed to develop the muscles; I like very much Beethoven and Walstein is great, you play very, very good!
the great thing about beethoven was also his biggest crutch; being (mostly) deaf gave him the ability to aproach music in a way no one else was capable or willing to. at times you hear a part and think to yourself "there's eveidence right there that he's deaf" then he build upon that musical idea and you begin to wonder who the deaf one truly is
Well, Penne, I gotta say, I've been watching this video many a time the past few years, and I commented on this same video a while ago, but I still watch it today and it's still amazing every time! You rock. That 40 years of playing has really paid off! What new projects are you working on? -Piano Man
I'm working on...Chromatic fantasy & fugue by Bach, Etude op.8-2 & 8-8 by Scriabin, Piano Sonata Op.10-2 by Beethoven, Études-Tableaux Op.39-6 by Rachmaninoff, and Piano Concerto by Schumann now. In addition, I will hold two pianos concert in May.
WOW! You are staying busy! I envy you for being able to play Rachmaninoff and Scriabin. The best of luck for all of those pieces and your concerts in May!
What the hell.... how can people vote for 4 stars????? i dont think these guys can make it better...... thanks for your playing, keep up the good work ok? =D
No Mariano999. I am saying that this woman plays piano so well she cannot be touched. She is a true talent. But so many people add their $.02 cents, so, they should at least leave a video showing that they can do better. ( THE PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING... SO THEY SAY)
Surprise! sorry, because my friends play faster than me, so I was confused, maybe. But I don't know still about tempo, my one is faster or not. but, if I will re-try it, I'll start practicing slower than that.
I read your response comments to some of these...I don't understand how you could not think you're not that good! Have you looked at the other videos on YouTube? Yours is definitely one of the best sounding!! That was awesome...yes there are mistakes, but most have more than yours. I thoroughly enjoyed this. Thanks! :)
Dear Penne- You do a great job of playing the Waldstein. It is no simple piece to learn by Beethoven. You do a fine job. I am a pianist myself and know how hard of a piece it is. You have accomplished a lot.
Thank you for your kind message. I'm so glad. This video is recorded about 2 years ago for an audition. I did hard work, but it's my limit at that time. I like this sonata. I want to re-study it one day. Thanks again!
The tempo changes a little bit too much; most of the song is supposed to stay the same tempo (not the legato part of course). You started off wayy too fast, imo. But you got all the notes and it was pretty good other than the changing tempo all the time :) I give u 4 stars.
Thank you for your commment. I haven't taken any lessons this piece, I had studied by myself. So maybe I can or should improve it more, but I have no time now...
Very clean and precise! I tried this piece a while ago. The third movement is really profound. By the way, do you know of Balakirev? Not very many people know of his music, but it's very unique in my opinion. I'd love to hear you play his music sometime. Thanks for the upload. :D
If that is what you can do with little time to study, I must admit that I am afraid of what you can accomplish with more time! This is among my favorite pieces, and you play it with refreshing poise and clarity.
Thank you. It was recording last spring for an audition. I was lucky, I passed it, but it was my limit, I had to have more time to study. If I have a chance, I will re-study it.
i envy your technique!
