  • So wheres the brutality? guy resisted, cops throw him on the ground, threw one punch, then handcuffed him. but of course students these days (which i am) see even a little bit of force from police and immediatly scream police brutality. and i can't believe people r actually believing some random cop hating asshole on youtube that they erased the evidence i call bullshit on that, how'd they get away with this video then?

Though i did hear about the doctor beating incident and yes that's fucked up

  • just heard on AM800 that 200 cops will be laid off. I feel a little safer. Good times are coming.

  • fuck the windsor police department ...

  • If most of you guys weren't screaming and yelling and being ignorant bunch of fucks then you might not have had a problem. People need to learn respect. You give respect, you get respect. This is not "brutality" what so ever. Grow up guys, c'mon.

  • fuck windsor cops i hope you all get gunned down like your boy atkinson you fags

  • fuck these faggots to the windsor police i hope you see this you fags are all GOONS you dont do your job and you dont deserve to wear that badge ive first hand seen these punks fuck people up just because they can and its not against the law to tell a cop to fuck off freedom of speech half these people on here probably arent from windsor six of these so called officers beat the fuck out of me when i was 16 because i told them to get the fuck off my buddy i got tazered peppersprayed and beat

  • @austinman1995 they're doing their job you mean? I'm guessing you aren't a student "there".

  • In University of Windsor, everyone is racist not just whites. Me as a brown guy, I face racism from brown girls, black girls, white girls, and people from other races. Girls are more racist.

  • there fucking pigs thats what they do lol

  • All I hear is WTF no wonder why they arrested them

  • ahh it helps to have friends that work in google.....

you guys want to hear something hilarious?...

    ..

    ..

i got my friend to run up the list of users ip addresses posting on this video... ironic how more them half are coming from the police station... LOL.. what clowns...

  • There was no wrong by the police, a plain clothes officer was threatened by a group of black men and he called for back up. If the punks that threatened him never said a word this would never have happened.

  • this isn't brutality in any form and in the description you say quote at least one police dog verbally and physically brutalized students and other partygoer" how does a dog verbally brutalize someone they can't speak unless you find barking verbal assault if so i guess i'm insulted all the time i work in the K-9 unit for the Windsor police but today i'm investigating police brutality claims on youtube.

  • Ahh... another Irish student causing problems

when I went to school we were busy studying and not causing shit or fighting with the police

who said... Im sending this to oprah

wow.. she hates whitey more then south cent LA

  • So lets summarize this video. Guy resisted arrest, police arrested him. Where's the brutality? The poster of this video is a biased moron trying to fuel the fire. Don't bother showing what that idiot did prior to being detained.

I hope next time you need the police they don't respond due to being in court trying to fight your stupid complaints towards them. All cops are bad until you need them right? You're such a jackass.

  • @BlitzburghRepeat That's the basic mentality with these arrogant fuckers. "all cops are bad until you need them." god, you hit the nail on the head with that one. Cheers

  • So disgusting, the police there are so fucked up.

  • is that in the CAW?

  • Where's the brutality?

  • fkn shyt fly'z.

  • I go to U wuindsor, and I know about that incident. You people are unbelievable, the Police respond to someone's COMPLAINT! Then when they get there, all the people started to get annoyed and rowdy at them, thus, a restraint was made. Police haters are just as ignorant as everyone else. Stop posting these biased videos that never show what the assailant did to cause repremendation.

  • u talk fkn shyt... that aint just a restraint its tha way they fkn do it and how tha cop on the left keeps kneeing the guy on the ground. FUCK THA POLICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fuck you STUPID NIGGERS all you do is cause trouble and ruin good neighborhoods FUCKOFF and stay in the GHETTO where you belong

  • im white and fuck you

  • No strikes, a gentle take down, even though the guy was struggling...maybe you saw something that wasn't in the vid. You really WANTED there to be some brutality. You seem to be another youtube liar saying anything for views. Cheap.

  • What can we do to fix the windsor police problem? 1) Hold individual police officers accountable (by an outside agency) 2) hire more women police officers (they are less machoistic and physically abusive) 3) Increase the educational requirments of new recruits 4) Fire the windsor police chief and his circle of upper managment friends!

  • There is much more to this incident than what the video shows. There is little incriminating evidence against the windsor police for the simple reason that most of the phones and cameras used were confiscated and erased by them. The windsor police are far from professional and close to goonish. They are famous for abusing ones rights, mostly since there is no one to complain to. Well, they (the police) will take your complaint, but as CBC radio explained Jan5th, "will laugh at your request".

  • They erased all of the videos?

  • thats nothign eh...like to see you feel the same way after a cop "brought you down" like that

you see nothign wrong with how police operate in a situation like this??

cmon- you cant tell me they need to use taht much "force"

  • Its funny that your complaint went no where because it was soooooo ridiculous that no one cared at all. Welcome to Windsor...But now you can go back to Toronto!!!!

  • By the way, you could clearly see the guy resisting the whole time...they did what was right...I doubt the cops tell you how to flip burgers, don't tell them how to do their job

  • I see nothing wrong here. What is "sending the video" to Oprah going to do? In response to another poster about the police "targeting" the bars attended to by mainly the black community, I'm assuming the poster means the bars with all the shootings, but I still can't understand why that is racist? And that same poster how the police harassed them while doing a "routine check" of a vehicle, perhaps you were "harassed" because of the crowd you were with, self admittedly, 2 of the guys had records.

  • But that doesn't explain why they were not questioned. If they spoke to all of us, thats understandable, but to pull me out of the car to question me, single me out, the one with no record is stupid and there is no excuse for that.

  • I didn't see anything wrong with what the Police did. I did hear a lot of people yelling at them....go home and behave and things don't happen and Police don't get called.

  • Yeah, how dare people think they can leave their house without being accosted by police. If everyone would just stay home in fear and let the police do whatever they please, the world would be a much safer place.

  • You're obviously narrow minded or young. I didn't say go in your house and stay there. I said when your out act like a human being not a drunken tough guy and when Police do something cry about it....I was an innocent person boo hoo. Try to be opened minded about the job Police have to do...deal with this type of drunken behaviour all the time...and I know its there job...I bet you would be the first person complaining if you were assaulted and the Police didn't come to your rescue.

  • your wrong - mrgrande is right

whats next? we start getting smashed to the ground for giving a cop a dirty look? or farting? shit, society needs to slow down-- theres better ways of handling a situation like this than beating someone to the ground

  • I'm curious...why would you be giving dirty looks to cops anyways ? If I'm drunk and trying to be a tough guy and a cop took me down then I deserved it and I wouldn't cry after. If you never dealt with drunk young people in a hostile situation then you shouldn't comment. I think cops handle themselves well considering the situation. Also have you ever tried to control someone by yourself..let alone a drunk person...very difficult.

  • Windsor Police needs to be held accountable for their actions. I really hope that something good comes out of it and people in authority learn that they can't assume or pick on people because of their race.

  • I have also been to many parties at the University of Windsor and at the end of events run by the black student groups, police are always outside waiting yet when the event is being run by another group, no cops. When you go to the clubs in downtown Windsor there are always police patrolling the streets, but there is always at least 5 police cars, police dogs and a paddy wagon outside of the club where more members of the black community frequent.

  • blah, blah, blah,blah, blah!!!!

  • Boc Office=shootings nuff said!!!!

  • The Windsor police often pull tactics like this especially when members of the Black community are involved. I have experienced this before. I was once in a car on my way to the casino and we were stopped by police (for a "routine check"). I was the only black person in the car and I was the only one questioned and even though 2 of the other passengers (white males) had records and I didn't. When I asked for the badge number she said," Why do I need to know that?" and told me to get in my car.

  • what you people will never understand is that police will always abuse there power, so swallow you pride blacks, give up the dream of racism it ended long ago, and MOVE THE FUKKKKKK ONNNNNNN....your sooooo tough with your pathetic childish clown like attitude, its actually really sad..keep acing like those uneducated circus monkeys A.K.A rappers and we'll see how far you go in life...hahahahahahahahah good for the police

    continued below:

  • the girl that hit the cop is the one to blame...don't show cops attitude.

  • fuck the windsor police they are a bunch of lil bitches

  • Looks like a job well done! You do a cops job and tell me if you wouldn't want to protect yourself from getting hurt. During an arrest people need to shut up and listen not mouth off!

  • START OF POST

Just a word to johndoh9900, roxie2020 and NaziVictory ....(wake up call to roxie and john...ur arguing from the same point of view as a person who is proudly aligning him/herself with the Nazi regime...WOW..WINNER) moving on..

  • Before you go out with your blatant stereotype propaganda where you lay into people from behind the safety of your computer screens, EDUCATE yourself. Speak to the group members, the law students, professors and now the PRESIDENT OF YOUR SCHOOL who have all been in contact with these people "crying wolf" and the police force and realize there is a problem with what went down that night.

  • When you have a press conference where the reporters are out to disprove students but the students and their stories stand up against the criticism -- any educated person would come the conclusion that something deeper than just a "routine" call occurred. GET ALL THE FACTS AS THEY HAPPENED -- DON'T DRAW YOUR OWN INFERENCES FROM ONE MOVIE AND ACT LIKE YOU AN EXPERT ON THE NIGHT'S EVENTS NOW.

  • What's better? when the reporters first contacted the police force they claimed only 6 officers showed up....but then...magically once this video turns up.....the police force changed it's prior statement to this radio news source and says..."opps....sorry.....we meant 26". Why lie in the first place if you're not in "cover your ass mode"?

  • I could go on and on saying things like -- did you know a fight broke out where a throat was slashed with a broken beer bottle at the pub for a party and no officers were called nor did any show up the VERY night before all this went down? But why acclimatize yourselves with the facts right? Makes ranting on a website so much less fun when you can't rely on your stereotypes and have to actually use logic to come up with your arguments.

  • But truthfully there is no need to even begin picking apart your ill-informed, hate filled messages because I have no respect for people that can't come out from behind their desks to say what they really feel. These students have stood up -- made their voice heard -- garnered attention

  • This feat is much harder to do when there are pricks like you guys out there. If you want respect...make your voice heard....write to the papers that printed these stories, come on the radio shows and USE YOUR REAL NAME.....if you want to dish it out to these people.....stand up for YOUR views and take it. If you're not prepared to do that -- to fight for what you believe -- regardless of what it is, who are you to have a voice?

  • Not saying this is right, but I'm curious to know what exactly went down before this footage?

  • Cops were out of line to some extent but damn! this shit was really blown out of proportion.

  • It's the allegations for the investigation that everyone has a problem with. You don't just cry out racism and police brutality, especially with the evidence provided, and not expect a backlash. And considering this same party, under various names and groups has been trouble in the past, in all likelihood, you're going to be told to go pound dirt as far as an investigation is concerned. Talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill.

  • The Cops make mistakes. Everyone does. So what's the harm in asking for an investigation? It's the best way to find out if the students did "deserve what they got" or if the Cops reacted in an excessive manner. Everyone wins and the matter is settled.

  • 700 people(200 outside 500 inside)Multiple fights break out at 2am. 30 Police arrive. 30 vs 700. U mouth off and dont leave. Even though they are vastly outnumbered, police do their job arrest those who continue 2 cause problems and endanger the safety of others. If u were arrested its your own fault. Shut your mouth n leave when u r told 2. The fact that u scream racism is a travesty 2 those who have truly suffered racism. Did u even notice that the arresting officer is black?U are such a moron.

  • Well said. They made it more embarresing by protesting the next day in the CAW centre. Looked like idiots.

  • omg this is absolute bullshit.. going by al the stories i heard i thought there was gonna be at least some blood or actual fighting... So what there were a lot of cops.. big deal.. they were being idiots.. If they wanna pull that racist shit.. go back to there countries origin.. where i'm pretty sure that they would be shot on the spot.. like get over it!!!

  • BTW are you guys not seeing Bright being kneed in the side over and over again by the one officer? This was done because he was asking the officers what his friend had done to be arrested. Also note he was being told to leave without having his coat...it was -22 Celsius outside.

  • wow.. all the way to a university level edumakation and they still don't know or understand the definition of "brutality" or "racism".

Last I looked, the CC allows an arresting officer to use one level of force higher then being faced with. That means if he says your under arrest and you flail your arms and say FUCK YOU, you get taken to the ground. The police don't need to wait to get hit before they respond.

  • Clearly Resisting Arrest, Textbook Job!

  • OK, this is typical bullshit. I am a student and this group is doing nothing but protecting its own trash that started the whole problem. Why is it whenever the Police tell a black person to do something, it is racist. Maybe we should just start an afro canadian university to go with the afro canadian high school in Toronto then we will all be happy. What bull shit, and as I saw it you all provoked the police, and they responded in a professional manner.

  • you are a 40 year old student?

  • no and what does that have to do with anything

  • Well, lets see now...the allegation is racism..are "police" a race of people now?

  • In the newspaper today:

"Police were responding to calls about fights at the party." If I call the police about violence, yes I expect them to come. They didn't just come out of nowhere.

"Windsor police have said so many officers responded to the scene because of the large crowd involved. Two people are charged with obstructing police, resisting arrest and assaulting police." Makes sense - large crowd, many officers. Can't send only a few to deal with hundreds of people. Standard procedure.

  • Over-capacity crowds are illegal. Causing a disturbance is illegal. Harrassing campus police is illegal. Resisting arrest is illegal.

  • Police brutality is illegal. Beating people who are not resisting is illegal. Tampering with evidence is illegal. Plus, wouldn't an overcapacity crowd be the bar's fault, and NOT the people attending the event?

Thanks for coming out, there, Chief.

  • Actually, there were charges laid for obstructing justice among other things because people were RESISTING arrest. And if you consider "beating" to be what is a standard police take-down arrest, then maybe you should write to city council and request them to disallow officers from arresting people, rather have them ask politely for people to get in the back of the cruiser...Chief. One more thing, yes it's the bar's fault, but the people wouldn't leave when police requested -making it their fault

  • What you need to do there chump is get a grasp on the definitions of 'brutality' and 'racism'. You keep tossing those words around almost like you know what they mean. I have never heard so much crying in my entire life from a party being broken up. Why can't you accept it as that? Or is it easier to cry racism? And who was brutalized??? There's ONE picture of a guy with a mark on his face. Who even says that was caused by police officer? It probably came from the fight they came to break up.

  • seriously, stop making assumptions about things you clearly don't know about. You are assuming a lot of things, please get your facts right before you post.

  • No, you stop these bullshit claims! It's pretty clear from the responses you've gotten so far that no one agrees with you. Choose your battles. If you want to make every single incident a racial issue, you're going to find yourself with a lot less support when something credible may come along. The only thing that's for certain out of all this, is that no 'brutality' as you've come to call it occurred that night. Now, to save any face you have remaining, call it a night and quit with this crap.

  • Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. If people felt that they were being harrased unfairly by police then they have the right to share their stories and find out why what happened happened.

We're going to get to bottom of this, and its going to be because we won't quit. Please don't draw conclusions from two youtube videos. An independent inquiry is needed into the police actions and campus officials who allowed this to happen.

  • ok how about we have an independent review about all the times police have attended the university pub for these parties where all hell breaks loose and these assholes push and shove the police. Look at your past pub nights involving mostly afro canadian clienal. Why is it these things don't occur on all the other nights...hmmm lets think...oh ya its the police targeting the afro canadians

  • How does making false claims sit with you? Is that not an injustice? That these police officers had to risk themselves to come to your party, WHICH THEY WERE CALLED TO, to break up fights amongst yourselves only to face racism charges in the end? You seem to think you have the freedom to cry racism and police brutality and have no one dispute you. Whatever you say goes, right? You tell the police what to do and when the party is over, and if THEY resist, bring out the racism claims.. Ok buddy.

  • WHICH THEY WERE CALLED TO...

  • Exactly, Dipshit. They were called there. They didn't show up out of their own free will to rain on your party. It's quite clear your observational skills are sub-par, but you have to be able to recognize the difference between the police responding to a call, and them choosing to station officers there prior to the fact. You act like they treated you like the Hell's Angels, who by the way I would argue have a better case for discrimination than your pathetic whining amounts to.

  • point is - who called them? We still don't know, and its 5 months after the fact.

  • actually...campus police called them...officer needs assistance....priority 1 in any jurisdiction...500 vs 3 is not very fair!!!!!!

  • Dudes, Keg parties are illegal. You can't legitimately compare this with that.

  • Yes! Keg parties are an excellent example of parties that myself and MANY others have been to, that have been broken up by police. No one screamed racism when this happened. I don't understand why this can't be looked at for what it is; a party that the cops got called to. Simply because it was attended by mainly afro-Canadians DOES NOT automatically make it a racist move to break it up. Quit trying to make every issue, a race issue and you'll find there's a lot less racism than you claim.

  • I'm white, I've been at plenty of parties where this has happened - to WHITE,BLACK,BROWN,GREEN,PURPLE, who gives a shit. I've been pushed and shoved by police. Big deal. If the police didn't come and something happened, then everybody would say they didn't come to help because of a racist reason. Stop this race card shit.

  • Standard procedure for campus police is that when they cannot control a situation - like this one - Windsor Police get the call. It has happened at keg parties I've been to where no violence broke out - only nobody called it racism then, and nobody made a big fuss about it. Those who were drunk and disorderly were taken away in the same fashion the person in the video was arrested and that was it. Why wasn't SAABR up in arms about it? There was a fight that broke out, campus police was harrassed

  • let us call this what it is RACISM. Let us also call all these negative postings for what they are, either you're cops or you're friends of the cops that were there that night or who have acted in similar fashion. Let us also ask ourselves about the reasonableness of the use of force given the situation, the response of 26-30 plus a dog team and paddy wagon is an excessive response to a verbal fight on campus at 3am in the students commons area! Especially when we have paid campus police

  • Just because we're disagreeing, it doesn't mean we're friends of the cops. I don't know any of those cops, but I feel bad that they're subject to these bogus accusations. Yes, a response of 26-30 officers is legitimate when you consider the size of the OVER-CAPACITY party. You can't send a few officers and have them outnumbered like that. True, there was campus police on-site, but the unnarmed officer was being HARRASSED by party-goers and they weren't listening to him, hence police were called.

  • I think its a little unfair to call this police brutality since I only see them restraining a man. No blows, no nothing! Maybe if the guy listened to the authorities this incident would not have happened. But I guess its easy for young people now-a-days (myself being one) to put the blame on others. We like making up problems - We're all a bit EMO I guess.

  • First of all you can't see shit, secondly when is all this racial shit going to end. I thought we are all equal. It seems to me I can never recal a white person complaining and using the race card. White is a race of people, right?

  • Can you recall a white person being pulled over while driving for no reason? And white is a colour, I'm pretty sure there is only one human race.

  • yeah, Im white. I have been pulled over for no reason. Shit were all screwed. No matter your race or sex. We are fucked. They, "officers" are gods now. Hell, you've heard it. Cops are heroes , no one is quite sure how or why they just are. Now be a good dumbed down american, watch your football, basketball, and other sports. It's all over. Rise, rebel, and fight on!!!!

  • You're a hammerhead...Police,fire fighters and paramedics have always been called heroes...A bunch of bandwagon jumping students who have yet to enter the real world aren't...Maybe this is your problem?

  • Oh wow, another case of racism and police brutality. Well, that's would I would be saying if there were actually any of that in this video, or that had even occured that night. NEWS FLASH! Being black and acting like an ass does NOT give you permission to play the race card when the police show up. Try treating others with respect instead of assuming you're owed it as part of reparations, you'll find you'll get some back in return.

  • What about the police treating people with respect?

  • did you read todays newspaper??? quoting the media relations officer of the Windsor Police "one of the people at the pub WOULDN'T ALLOW an officer entry to the pub" and in fact "pushed an officer" resulting in his arrest....well....obviously these partygoers thought/felt they could do whatever they damn well pleased and found out the hard way that things don't work that way....and now they cry and bitch....say good-bye to your pub and you'll be the ones to thank!!!

  • We didn't see any Police brutality in the film because there wasn't any. As for the Police taking everyone's cell phones and deleting the footage. Why don't you wake up and smell what your shovelling. Thirty cops had the time to take hundreds of cell phones and delete them all but one. They must have been detaining everyone for hours. Or maybe it was the cell phone fairy. Hope she left you a few loonies.

  • Funny since that IS what happened (minus the fairy part).

  • deleting captured footage??? i'm sure they had time or the authority to do that??? who's going to buy that line of bs??? grasping at straws and hoping that those in positions of power/authority will cowar to saabr and the crap it is apparently trying to achieve

saabr will do nothing for the University but cause division amongst the students, faculty, and citizens of the city.

  • For those who do not see police brutality in this footage, you need a wake up call. And hopefully that is what SAABR will bring to the University of Windsor campus and city! It's also pretty suspicious the people that are making these 'i don't see any brutality' comments on here. And if people are complaining of the lack of footage and quality, that is because the police that night were grabbing students' cell phones and deleting the captured footage. We work with what we could recover.

  • These are posted as evidence available to the public that yes, there was an incident that occured on Jan. 20th at the UWSA. The allegations of racism and police brutality and harassment are founded on more than just what you see here.

And as for tarnishing Windsor's reputation, I'd be more concerned about xenophobic comments such as Dodgers than the public using their right of freedom of expression.

  • Oh ya...Go back to the city you came from so you dont tarnish Windsors Reputation.

  • Since when does Windsor have a good reputation? Must have been before my time.

  • Haha...there is nothing there. Your University Students maybe you should pickup a book and read up on Police abit to see thats nothing. Try to grow up....Oprah wouldnt want to hear you BS

  • I don't see any violence either - this crap is just stupid. Starting something for nothing. Quit with the racism already. Why were the cops there in the first place?

  • the video shows officers apparently doing their job...no brutality as far as I can see. astroknaught should get his facts straight before popping off

  • There WAS violence. Lately in Windsor, there has been an increase in violence with stabbings and shootings. What if the police never intervened, and someone was hurt? Would people say "police racist for not helping break up fighting among black people?" And really...excessive force? They took someone down WHO WAS RESISTING and cuffed him as per standard procedure. Give me a break. Further, it was 30 officers, SOME OF WHOM WERE BLACK THEMSELVES, against a huge group of people.

  • man i dunno what your sources were, but i've heard of only one incident of violence that night which was minimal and was eventually resolved amongst the parties. What are the bouncers and off duty officers hired for if not to deal with exactly those issues?

  • My sources are two people who were there. They told me about some of the party-goers taunting and harrassing a campus police officer for no apparent reason. What's one or two unnarmed officers going to do against a group of people? THAT'S why police were called in. It's difficult, as a cop, to restrain a group of people without numbers. Further, my sources are far more reliable than a choppy video beginning AFTER the arrest was taking place, and that shows a standard procedure take-down.

  • you said it so well! if the police never intervened they WOULD have said they were racist for not helping...it's like theres no way to win with this issue nowadays! i think it's so lame to use your race as an excuse for something that has absolutely nothing to do with that

  • This really needs to stop. Not the "police brutality," but turning everything into a race issue. I go to the University of Windsor, and am friends with some of the people there. I don't care what kind of crowd you have...whether it's predominately black, white, hispanic, asian, etc, if it gets over-capacity and people are fighting, if people have weapons on them, and if people are TAUNTING THE UNNARMED CAMPUS SECURITY GUARD (as this crowd was), then YES, police should be called in.

  • There were no charges laid on the individual taken down. The police responded excessively, since when do 26 cops and dogs show up to a student event, besides when that event is being attended largely by african-canadians?

True, there was no taser but there was also no need for these police to harass students having a good time in a building their tuition money is being used to maintain.

  • Quote from another video about this:

"a night that had gone by with next to no incidents of violence" There was violence that night, there was potential for more. If the law intervened its because they had a good reason or the university asked them to break up the party. Since when is handcuffing a belligerent suspect police brutality? Also did you hear the girl yell "No don't Bright, what the fuck?" Before the police went over to him. He did something to get police attention.

  • I totally agree...I didnt see any excessive force used. No Taser, pepper spray, batons or guns. Just a group of trained cops taking a guy down who probably deserved it. Maybe the RCMP can take a lesson from the boys in Windsor.

  • Complete bull! brutality my ass!! He/she got what was needed

  • Police Brutality! Give me a break. Video shows nothing but someone on the ground being arrested and another being taken to the ground and cuffed. No punching, no kicking. Maybe for once you clowns taking the video could start at the beginning of the event. I don't see a Tim Horton's in the background so the boys in blue are there for a reason. I've seen more violence on Bugs Bunny
