Actually, you can get one on Ebay for between $400.00 and $700.00. I got one that worked for only a $150.00. It had minor problems but I was able to get replacement parts for another $50.00 investment and my unit is like new now.
Sweet to see one of these in operation again! Brings back memories. One of my Christmas's as a child was all LIS themed. Remco B-9, Rotorifle(that also broke down to a pistol), Blue Helmet with flashing light up top, and also a pistol that basically showed multi-color light against the wall. What I would give to have all that stuff back...but if I did have it...couldn't sell it, LOL
I had one of these when I was a kid. My Uncle, who lived in Chicago at the time gave it to me for Christmas.

I just bought one in the original box, red and blue, 1966, and it had the instructions as well. It works like new.

OMG I got tyhat as a kid and its the first thing in my life that I remember. I woke up one day and in my bedroom was the robot. I wish I had this.
