The sharks were just circling, not going in for a feeding frenzy or anything. I think it was good that the young man went up to them, stroked their dorsal fins, and showed them his cattle-prod, so that there would be mutual respect. You never want to underestimate the banality and brutality of the sharks, but you also don't want to be confrontational with them. In all, I think this was an OK way to deal with them, and one of them even seemed to have the spark of intelligence, which is good.

Yeah, these fellas serve the system (too often without questions) but do not forget they also have families and relatives. At the end of the day it can be them fighting with people against government contractors. Inform and make friends - especially among the cops and military personel. There has been a great divide since most police departments have gone to a paramilitary format incrementally over the past 30 years. Instead of protecting the citizens, they're more apt to control, and belittle the citizens. This isn't proper police work, especially when violent crimes might be underway across town.
