  • i do know that wrc will use s2000 spec cars as well in 2010 , and they will run 280/300 horserpowers , and also 2 0 engines , only the wrc cars will have that amount of power !

  • i would think so because antilag helps the turbo spool when you are not hitting the peddle so you can go faster.

  • yes every kind of rallycar has a antilag system , wrc cars , group a cars , s2000 cars , they all have anti lag systems !

  • s2000 cars dont use as much horsepower , and use a 2.0 engine , and i m not sure if they use a turbo , and if so it s much smaller then wrc cars , so off course it produces a different sound , but they do use some sort of anti lag system to spiece it up , engine , or turbo !

  • uh dude if they dont have a turbo they dont have an anti-lag system. anti-lag is only for turbo cars to eliminate TURBO lag

  • i said , some kind of anti lag , meaning , not anti lag , but some kind of system , doing the same thing , but not for turbos , but for engines , read before replying !

  • i did read and I'm saying there is no suck thing as an anti lag system for non turbo cars. anti lag systems are only on turbo cars an there isn't any system that is comparable to it on a N/A engine. s200 or group N cars are a mix of turbo and non turbo cars, the ones with turbos have an anti lag system and ones without turbos dont it's as easy as that. Also all WRC classes use 2.0 engines. The S2000 regulations for the WRC cars dont go into effect until 2011 not 2010.

  • i know that , i allready said i wasnt sure about the anti lag etc , so i geus your right then , but i know about the s2000 cars , and i know wrc cars use a 2.0 engine i said that earlier , i read on a internet site (i know it s not very reliable) that when the s2000 class starts off for wrc as well, they will keep using a 2.0 engine with 300 horsepowers , it didnt say with or without turbo , but i assume it s without since it was one of the things that made the cars so expensive .

  • the new regulations are going to be that the basis for the WRC car is going to be the S2000 car. In order to make it in to a world rally car it is going to get a turbo kit and aerodynamics kit that will be uniform for allthe cars and has to be able to be removed with in a set time limit. So there will still be a big difference between the classes but i will cut costs tremendously compared to what it takes to build a car now.

  • so in other words the engine specs stay exactly the same ? 300 hp with 600 torque ? btw where do you get all this info from , i searched for one hour cuz i m really into rallying i go to the rallies alot on france and germany , but i only found some info about the new proton car and some random stuff about the upcoming wrc class ,thanks !

  • The engines of these IRC or s2000 cars have 265 HP and only 245 NM torque like in WTCC series, they have the same engine (max 8500 RPM). WRC cars not offically 365 HP and for example Subaru Impreza WRC 675 NM torque!! wrc engine boosted by 5 bar max. pressure through a 34 mm diameter restrictor+aircooler so that these cars can not be a B group rally car:). Unfortunatelly from 2011 WRC cars will have 1,6 liters turbo charged engines with less performance and torque. stupid FIA!

  • no , it would be stupid not to change the wrc , look at how the situation is now , the only two teams competing for the win are ford and citroen , thats not wrc , it lost it s spirit , and since it s cuz of the economic situation that there are just 2 teams competing , it s very smart to adjust the wrc to the situation , alot of brands will enter , cuz it s affordable , maybe even privatairs , plus , drivers like petter solberg demanded a change , and he s absolutely right !

  • My only queston is that what is the problem with 2 litres turbo charged engines? I think WRC cars are expensive because of the softwars and electronics used in WRC cars. Well, Mr. Mosley (the lawyer) thinks that every motorsport series should use the same 1,6 l engine. I do not think to develope a new turbo engine is cheaper than to use these engines further. I love these strong cars. It is a huge devolution. Watch 2009 IRC Brasil and after that 2008 WRC Finnland. You'll see what I think of.Thx

  • it does add alot competition wise , there might be alot of brands giving it a go , but yea it would be less spectaculor to watch live , lets hope for the best !

  • Several factors. It's a race engine so it's pretty much completely different than the factory engine, and it has anti-lag so that adds the backfire popping sound, and it's a full race exhaust with equal length headers. Don't expect to ever get a street legal STI to sound like that. That's hundreds of thousands of dollars in development.
