actually the easiest way to acquire this look is growing out your hair & layers longer (down til your ab area). then use a thick curling iron. having a hairstyle with lots of layers won't really work well because more layers = lack of volume. the only layered part of gisele's hair that i see is a bit on her frontal bangs. also it helps to have thick hair. i'm not really sure about people with thin/fine hair though :\

actually, i think that having more layers gives you more volume. long layers are heavy and tend to weigh each other down.

@chowbox it´s the same for people with fine hair. i´m from denmark and have fine hair. it´s down to the abs, only cutted a little shorter in front. and it works :D
