Many thanks for posting this, ive never heard her speak outside of her movies, nice to see her in a more natural, everyday setting :) this is fantastic!
Thx for posting. Clara looks adorable here...but most importantly, happy. I prefer to think of her that way rather than think of the sadness she later experienced.
CLARA LOOKED SOO BEAUTIFUL HERE and this did get enough exposure at the time that Movie offers started to pour in , and she was going to step into a good part UNDER TWO FLAGS i think that was the title but again she was pregnent
@Impalamark64 She is a cutie, but only when she's thin. She put too much weight on from 1929 onwards. She was a beautiful woman, but she usually had the most awful hairdo. Her hair was wild and unruly and looked better matted down in the classic 1920s style. But what a sweetheart
There was a local columnist for the Des Moines Iowa Register years ago who had a crush on Toby Wing and was always dropping her name and picture into his columns. He always wanted to meet her, but I think he died before he got the chance. Toby died a few years ago.
Clara retired from films [her last ones were for Fox] in 1933, and settled down with husband Rex Bell, occasionally appearing in public, as this 1937 excerpt demonstrates. Louella Parsons (with her husband, "Docky" Martin, an absolute lush) had yet to become the "Hollywood vulture" of celebrity gossip columnists...
Fantastic footage! Great to hear Clara & see her with Rex!

Is there anyone as cute as Clara? Nope! She's my favorite, by far!
