Below the vid it says,"No description available." They got that right. There is no way anyone can describe Spike Jones and his City Slickers adequately. Just enjoy and let yourself describe them.
I owned a copy of Spike Jones' "Carmen" in the 50s. It was my only exposure to opera until I saw a real performance of "Carmen" at the Paris Opera House in 1964. I was pleased to find it on YouTube as there are no CDs available as far as I know.
I performed a "kareoke" version of this in 1956, I was the funny instrument guy, unfortunately, our performance was cancelled due to a local flu outbreak. There went my show business career!
"She not only fills it out, she overflows it." - Did Spike Jones lift that from Groucho Marx's "rejected jokes about Margaret Dumont" pile?

Good performance of the singers, better than many present day singers, and no autoglide corrections.

Bizet would have a heart attack, then recovered and payed standing ovations to this brilliant interpretation.

Originally released on a two-record "78" set {"Spike Jones Murders Carmen"} in 1949 (he first performed this on his radio show that February).
