smakin fish out of the bay on the bass boat. you pray for days like this though....but yall pretty ballzy to go out in the bay on a ranger like that, but atleast u were on one of the calmest part, and im pretty sure u guys know what your doing. Good fishn!
lol he pushed the other guy off the front of the boat. but daaang you guys killed em out there! thanks for sharing the vid! im still trying to get my first butt.... we'll see if this is my lucky year.
It wasn't the halibut we were scared of, but the treble hooks on the rattle traps. We weren't trying to keep any fish so we didn't bring a net or gaff. The halibut are hard to get ahold of since you can't grab them by the mouth. We would just grab the treble hooks with the pliers and try to shake them loose.
Its nice seeing some Norther California guys beating up the fish like you guys do in the videos. i am from Sacramento and i make my way out that way all the time. I am not looking to get your fishing spots exactly but where roughly are you at and what kind of lures/equipment are you using? I think if you made this into more of a fishing show it would help us viewers out alot. Thanks for a good fishin "show"
@russnyder they fished near San Quinn Prison and a little bit near the ferry building. The Corte Madera Creek is a fun place to fish as well good from shore there
Quantum rods (7' to 7'6") and Quantum Energy and Cabo reels. 14lb mono for the fish trap swimbaits and hair jigs. 30lb braid for the rattle traps. We are fishing the Marin Islands, the flats near San Quenton Prison, and a couple spots near China Camp. (Lower part of San Pablo Bay)
i do this often as well . and just like you guys .WE RELEASE.. take a medium hali 4 fresh food sometimes or a striper. not like some of the game hogs on here ...if you keep a limit you can be done at 7 00 am ,its laughable ..i let 2 30lb+stripers go last year ...gene pool ,fish
The Calicos and Sanbass live a little further south, around Orange County and San Diego. In the San Francisco Bay we have; Stripers, Halibut, Sturgeon, Salmon, Leopard Shark, Stingray, Perch, and a few Rockfish and Lingcod.
Straight killin em..nutty on the bay with a bass boat thouh..but dam..i give it up to you guys..only thing i do is drift out with live bait..but dam...that looks fun as fuck..im jelous
That's reckless going in a bass boat in the bay..lucky the weather cooperate with you guys...If you guys want some decent Butts head to Ballena bay....I did good for 2 years straight of the bank..averaging about 2-5 fish a day...
We caught the fish on rattle traps, fish traps, and hair raisers. The reels were Quantum saltwater energys, and Cabos. I only take my boat in the bay about once or twice a year. After I take it out I spend an hour or so cleaning it. You need to make sure all the salt is off the boat, or you can do some serious damage.
What rods are u guy using?

@bflatfinesse - Not to often in the bay unless the water is really clear, then I will use a fluorocarbon leader.

how do you fish the fish traps(hair raiser)? Do you just reel them in and give it a jerk? And should you reel the rat-l-traps in slow or fast?
